If they can keep only 1, who do you choose - Irving or DLaw?

If I can keep only one?

Both.

Then go DL with your first pick.

Irving is restricted.

Yes we can retain him. Give him a tender that would get us a 1st or 2nd round pick if someone offers him a big contract. We can match or get the draft pick(s). I prefer we keep them both. They got something in the works here. just need a better / more supporting cast.

Sorry to derail this thread but I think they damn well better find a way to keep 'em both. I feel the continued success of our defense to get sacks and pressure depends greatly upon retaining both of them. We have only recently managed to escape the bonds of hopelessness in terms of our pass rush. Allowing our best defensive linemen to leave would be a sad commentary upon this team's resolve to maintain its defensive strength. (jmho)

Oh, absolutely. Couldn't agree more. And, they crazy fact that they're already close to $17M under the cap for next year..............before any carryover $$$ and any cuts/retirements/extensions (Martin)...........means the FO honestly has no excuses. The only thing would be if DLaw wants like $15M+ a year.

As rare as it is to find a elite DE pass rusher it may even be more rare to find a guy like Irving who can rush the passer at DT.

I'll take Irving.

When you factor in injury history and everything else I think it's Irving > Lawrence.

You better sign both though.
Approved!

Ouch. Hopefully, he won't be quite that demanding but if worse comes to worst, the FO will have to do what they deem best.

I pick Irving because he's more versatile. FIRE AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

We've been searching for WAR DADDIES for the past 5+ years and now you just found them you make us choose? No way. Franchising DLaw to make sure he's back is ok and then signing Irving for sure.

Dez needs to give back some money too.

I think they need to start shifting money from both Witten and Bryant to start keep these defensive players.

Pay cut or "thanks for your service, go Cowboys!"

And get Crawford's contract off the books as soon as you can afford it as well.

I'd like to keep all of them, but you can't do it at the current numbers.

Irving - only because he doesn't have an extensive injury history. With that said, need to find a way to keep both.

Sorry. Sadly, we know this FO has done things in the past that make you say...........hmmmmmm

DLaw is just starting to come into his own and is dominant at times. I'd pick DLaw but I'd sure try to keep Irving too.

Oh, make no mistake about it, he's going to want upwards of $15 million a year.

Why wouldn't he?

The Giants paid Olivier Vernon - the last name pass rusher to come available - 5 years, $85 million, with $52.5 million guaranteed. That was off I believe a 6- sack season.

What would you expect Lawrence to be looking for coming off is the season he's having?

And a one year franchise tag will cost about $18 million.

He's not coming cheap either way.

There's a reason pass rushers get PAID. They are rare. When you find them.....keep them. Much easier to draft LB, S and even CBs when you have dominating DL. Just remember the 09 Gmen.

Cut Witten, sign both of them.

Love Jason, but $6.5 million per year?

Based on his reaction to the playoff loss last year, I think there's a chance this is Witten's last year anyway. Wouldn't be surprised to see us spend 1-3 round pick on a TE if the opportunity is there.
