If we are 14-1, do we start Romo against Eagles?

If we are 14-1, there is no controversy and we should have 1st seed locked up.

There is upside for everyone to play Romo with 1st team for the 1st half:
1. For those who want to trade Romo, his value will go up if he plays well.
2. For Romo loyalist, we get to see if he still has the 2014 form and how he performs with Zeke and OL.
3. He knocks off some of the rust if he is needed in the playoffs.

Downside:
1. If he is injured again, then his trade value goes to near zero.
2. If he is injured, then we dont have a good backup. Though if he gets injured in the first half, he is no backup and we really lost very little. In fact, we gain an extra roster spot if he goes on IR.

As soon as HFA is locked up I think you start giving Romo substantial playing time. Maybe not every minute of every remaining game. Dak will have the bye and, in our situation, I think keeping him sharp and rust-free probably takes priority over resting his young body or keeping him on the sideline to avoid injury.

Romo should, however, play at least a half in any remaining games after HFA is secured. In addition to getting him ready in case he is needed in the playoffs it will allow us to showcase him for a possible offseason trade.

I wouldn't mind playing dak the first half then I romo the 2nd half. There is always that risk of going into the playoffs with Sanchez as backup. The eagles will be going after Romo for sure

Wrapping things up and allowing Romo to play could increase his trade value. If he were to play well, it could get a team interested. Joe Montana got to play a game after a long period off when Steve Young took over and played great luring the Chiefs into trading a #1 for him. No one will part with a high pick for Romo because he's so brittle but at least he could be showcased in a meaningless game prior to the playoffs. He hasn't played in a full year and to get anything in a trade for him he has to show he still can play and get through a game healthy.

I believe we had a chance to get a first-round bye that week if Green Bay or Seattle would've lost. Not 100% sure though.

if we win the NFC east, we will almost definitely get the bye
With 5 games to go, #3 seed is 7-4.

No. Rookies need reps. Dak is good but you have to make 1000s of reads to become elite. The more he plays the less like we'll see him miss guys streaking free in the future

absolutely...i dont need rusty tony having to play in the playoffs. lets knock the rust off before the real games are here...i say week 16 and week 17 he should get an entire half each game. its only beneficial for the entire team.

No. Starters play a series or two until they score a TD and then Sanchez leads a group of mostly backups the rest of the way. You can't risk Injury to Romo, both for the playoffs and his trade value. Romo only plays if Dak gets hurt.
