That would mean you have 3 active qbNo. Starters play a series or two until they score a TD and then Sanchez leads a group of mostly backups the rest of the way. You can't risk Injury to Romo, both for the playoffs and his trade value. Romo only plays if Dak gets hurt.
Nossir. You don't disrespect 9 like that. If we've clinched everything, you start Sanchez sir.
Exactly. It would be embarrassing to Romo.
Yes, and I love that. No need to stop playing to win heading into the 'offsGarrett will still play the starters.. He's done it everytime in this scenario.
Wrapping things up and allowing Romo to play could increase his trade value. If he were to play well, it could get a team interested. Joe Montana got to play a game after a long period off when Steve Young took over and played great luring the Chiefs into trading a #1 for him. No one will part with a high pick for Romo because he's so brittle but at least he could be showcased in a meaningless game prior to the playoffs. He hasn't played in a full year and to get anything in a trade for him he has to show he still can play and get through a game healthy.
Came here to post this. You dont give Prescott two weeks off. He struggled with one week off and complained that it threw him off. You play him AT LEAST 1 half.
I think it would be slightly disrespectful to Romo to play him in that game. If you are going to rest starters, play Sanchez.Garrett will still play the starters.. He's done it everytime in this scenario.
The Chiefs are the optimal landing spot for Romo. However, no way they give up a first rounder for him. 2nd or 3rd maybe.
It never worked out for IND when they started worrying about rest for guysCame here to post this.
Well, then play Dak the full game. I'm arguing against having him sit.It never worked out for IND when they started worrying about rest for guys
I believe in the Belichick method......the season is 16 games 60 minute games.....you play your healthy players
Plus the last thing Dak wants is Tony coming in and lighting up the scoreboard and igniting a new controversy
I was agreeing with you guys.......let him start and play into the second half but not a full week off......mentally it messes you upWell, then play Dak the full game. I'm arguing against having him sit.
It's hard for me to believe that Romo would be embarrassed or otherwise offended by being told to play once HFA is locked up. Leaving aside that he's a total pro who understands how this game works, it's an opportunity to do what he loves to do and does better than all but a handful of people on the planet. You never know what such an opportunity could lead to. Just ask Dak.
If you think that is why they lost then you are forgetting one of the most unforgettable plays in NFL history...I guess another risk of playing him is if he looks really good and Dak struggles a bit, you tempt Jerry into pulling a Buffalo owner and ordering Garrett to start Romo over Dak in the playoffs--like Wade was ordered to start Rob Johnson over Flutie and lost because of it.......
