If we go 9-8 to end the season with Rush, should there be a QB controversy?

If this team ends up finishing 9-8 to end the regular season, should there be a QB controversy? It would be something to behold to see Cooper Rush bringing us to a 9-8 record after a dismal 3-5 start. You almost have to consider benching Dak at that point. What say you Cowboys?!
Rush isn't good.

first lets see rush win enough to get team in playoffs.
I dont think they can get in even if they do win out.
There is only 1 wc spot that could be open and right now
washington has it @ 8-5
rams are 7-6, and 3 teams are 6-7.
All those teams would have to lose down to 8 losses, and dallas has to win all games left.
If dallas were to tie one of those teams, then they have to win the tie breaker.

So odds are not good for dallas making playoffs.
(unless the powers that be rig all the games so dallas wins out!....and make other teams lose)
It can happen lol just watch the end of chicago game where they ran 35 seconds off clock for no reason lol.

Even if Rush/Dallas runs the table and wins the Super Bowl, I can guarantee you that Dak is still starting next season. Money dictates everything in Dallas. Cooper would still be lucky enough to get another contract as #2 :muttley:

240 million guaranteed means Dak is the starter, doesnt matter if he loses every dam game, he is the starter no matter what.

Dak will start. Pull and *** muscle getting off the toilet week 7. Cowboys will be 2-5 by then and then the backup will come in and win a couple games
Yep, classic Dak cop-out as he was 1-4 and 3-5 his last 2 major injuries so a pattern has been established of how his psychic works.
Jerry you idiot...................

Dak will be better next year.
That also will be the year where he will be in the best shape of his life.
And his INTs will be way down cause he worked on it.

So to answer your question: no.

No controversy, just hand the starting position to rush. Where it belongs until you find a solid number one.

Well our starting quarterback led us to three straight 12-4 seasons. Until Rush can do that then there isn't a quarterback controversy.

Now if Rush became All Pro, was in the MVP race and won playoff games.... that's worth a quarterback controversy. Rush is a solid backup and has been a career backup who's bounced on and off practice squads at times and has been in the league just as long as Dak has or maybe a year less.

Let's start being sensible here. Rush is NOT on Dak's level as a starting quarterback in this league.

Let's just appreciate Rush stepping in and filling his role admirable and respectable. Rush is doing a great job and I cheer him on the rest of the way the same way I would cheer Dak on.

Unless Rush leads us to a playoff win or two, this is nowhere near a controversy. A 9-8 record does not overthrow three straight seasons of 12-4 with and All Pro honor and an MVP candidate season.

The only thing that could possibly undo those 12-5 seasons is the Cowboys going 9-8 with Cooper Rush and getting into the playoffs. And the Cowboys magically getting to the NFCCG or Super Bowl because Rush somehow managed to turn on a switch and play at a very good to great QB level. In a manner similar to what Foles did for the Eagles. That is the only true way a QB controversy happens.

Going 9-8 and missing the playoffs or barely getting into the playoffs just to get blown out in the first round with Cooper Rush as the QB isn't going to be enough to create a controversy. If Rush was truly doing the same things Dak has done, then there would be some team offering Rush a job to be their starter.

And as things currently stand the Cowboys still would need some help getting into the playoffs. As 8 losses currently isn't going to get that last wild card spot in the NFC.

No, we can't have 60 million sitting on the bench. Dak can play at a high level, he has not gotten over the hump, and I'm not sure he can...but at least he provides a chance. Rush is nothing but a good back up. It would have been nice if Lance had stepped up, but he didn't. Dak will start and play until and if, he gets hurt again. Depending on his contract, this next season could be his last....

The only QB controversy in Dallas is we don’t have one. If we ever win another SB with the Jones clan, it won’t be with any QB currently on the roster. Anyone who thinks otherwise is delusional.
