If we knew we'd sign Collins, who would we have drafted instead of Chaz Green?

I'd have moved up in the 3rd for Duke or Coleman and considered the draft a slam dunk.

Tevin Coleman, Duke Johnson, Jay Ajayi, David Johnson........

You know who those guys are? They're Ryan Williams and Joseph Randle. Already had them here.

When Gurley went off the board, I wasn't thrilled about any of the rest versus what is already here.

You don't know what those players are going to be in the NFL. In 2011 Mark Ingram was looked at as the best RB in the class, and everyone after was so-so... and the Cowboys took some guy in the third round of that draft named DeMarco Murray and he turned out okay. Coleman looked more impressive in college than Murray did and also went in the third round.

You could be right... Coleman may turn into a Ryan Williams. But he could just as easily be a Demarco Murray. You never know so stop acting like you do.

That's the point. Running backs are almost ALWAYS so-so.

Ryan Williams was a second-round pick. Joseph Randle was considered a steal in the 5th. Darren McFadden was the fourth player taken.

Pedigree is here already. Most of those guys in this year's draft will be nothing special at all. One or two will be.

I still think Williams is going to be good, and Randle can add something. I'm least sold on McFadden, even though he's the big name of the bunch.

And I still think there's a chance that Peterson is here by the trade deadline, if not sooner.

Me either. It was surprising when I heard what Gil said, but I guess the team isn't going to come out and say pre-draft that they looked at a player and didn't like him. I liked Petty's quick release, height and arm strength -- and he just looks the part. But he was a more than a bit erratic on medium to long throws, and it's entirely possible the Cowboys didn't feel he could pick up a pro style offense.

I agree. Analysts were raving about his workout and I just think a guy like that is worth a flyer in the 4th round. He has all the tools and maybe one of the best arms of this QB class but it always comes down to does he mentaly have what it takes to be successful at the next level. It'll be interesting to see where his career goes but he'll have a fair shot with the Jets; their QB situation is unsettled, to say the least.
