If we make big moves and they don't work out, then what?

The Cowboys still have major contracts to sign and good players on the roster. How many top roster players are further needed?
Ahh, someone buying into the old we can't make moves due to the salary cap. Meanwhile teams like the Eagles have no problems adding players with big contracts. The cap can be manipulated. I'm not saying we should sign big name free agents left and right but we should consider signing a big name free agent every now and then. It should be a part of our roster building process.

I agree with this .... but honestly, I don't know that there are any moves that would put us over the top at this point of the season. I can see some making us better but not championship level.

Ie, think we would significantly overpay for minimal results.
you would be right, unless the offense and defense play schemes are fixed,

The problem with making any trades at this point is that Jerrah and company are adamant about building through the draft and our draft capital is low for 2024. We have a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 7th. Most likely near the back of the order because we should make the playoffs. Then we will probably get two 6th round comp picks which are like having two additional 7th round picks. So we basically have only 3 premium draft picks. If Jerrah and Stephen realized that we could save ourselves draft picks by making a little noise in free agency then we wouldn't have to be throwing away draft picks at the trade deadline to improve the team. Build via free agency and the draft with an occasional trade.
not even sure we build through the draft given there are 12 UDFA on this team. that's 22% of the team. seem not proportionate.

You keep making moves until you get it right, or you fire the GM and find one that can make good moves without interference. Never stop trying to improve the team.

I know this is not going to happen in the near future.
season tickets are sold out. we go on the road, stadiums are sold out. jersey's are flying off the rack. so why should we improve exactly?

Then I applaud them for at least trying. It all depends on price and end result. Gilmore was a great trade, cost little and even when he has a down game it was still worth it.

Well, normal teams would fire their GM and try with a new person/approach. We unfortunately have a unique Owner/GM situation.

This battle is already set...I don't think blowing up AT&T Stadium instead, is productive. It doesn't change for benefit or hit current team status.

If one hasn't paid enough attention to notice this team is very damn strong, worry and hate it then....but that is your path, not the Cowboys.
Did I say the team wasn’t strong? No, I have never said that in any post I made. I answered a general question.

That is simply stupid as hell...I'll say my own words, no thank you. Run along and back into the street or a concert.

He was trying to get better.

It didn’t work out, but there was effort being made.

Should he have kept that pick and drafted another Taco Charlton instead?
Exactly. At least show the fan base you care. He is getting destroyed for his comments yesterday by the national media. Like DESTROYED. He is probably counting his money laughing.

Well, we have plenty of very good players. Maybe adding more good players isn't the way to solve the problem.

If we make a big move and it doesn’t work out it’s a failure, plain and simple. We traded two picks for Brandin Cooks, and so far it hasn’t worked out. Trading Amari Cooper continues to haunt us. Our first two draft picks have been busts so far. We should’ve went after a big physical back to replace Zeke. I kept telling everyone Pollard isn’t a starting RB and the more carries he gets the worse he’ll be. I wasn’t on board with moving on from Kellen Moore. Twice while he was the OC we led the NFL in offense and were one of the leading scoring teams. Our offense isn’t close to as good as it was and our redzone offense is one of the worst I’ve seen with the Cowboys. The Joneses continue to mismanage the team.
