If we make the playoffs

Do you think Jerry will assume "we are one step closer" and decides to keep JG? I think everyone here wants to see the Cowboys in the Playoffs, but if it meant keeping JG do you still want to be in the post season? I think if we miss the playoffs it's a 100% chance Garrett is gone, but if we make it does that allow him to keep his job? or will he be fired either way. Please merge if this is considered another "Fire Jason Garrett" thread. Thanks for reading.

If we make the playoffs I could bet Garrett doesn't get fired, even if we are one and done.

Honestly. I would not be surprised Bro..Unless Stephen talks some sense to his daddy the way he did on draft day in 2014 (Zack Martin)

We aren’t making the playoffs. We have 2, maybe 3 wins left. Lions, skins and either the bills or bears. That’s it.

Best thing for the team is to miss the playoffs and lose a few easy games like Chicago or Detroit coming up.

That will get Garrett fired.

But until then I'm hoping for the playoffs because I hate losing. We have to basically win out.

We won't make the playoffs. We're too far gone in a stacked NFC along with a rising Philly in the division.

I think we'll win our division, but I also believed we'd win every game we lost. Moral of the story; I have a thinkin problem.

If the Cowboys lose their remaining games and don't get post game wedgies by the opposition's cheerleaders, I would expect Garrett back on the sideline in 2020.

I don’t think we’re going to make the playoffs. We’re too inconsistent and Philly has an easier remaining schedule. We’ve pretty much killed any chance of getting a wild card with conference losses to New Orleans, Green Bay and Minnesota. Philly has the Giants twice, Miami, Washington and the Cowboys at home. The division is theirs for the taking. I knew when we lost to the Jets that it would very likely come back to haunt us and it will.

Why does this question keep getting asked?

Garrett's fate will be decided by the Cowboys performance in January.

Either they win and he stays or they lose and he is finally gone.

At this point I think it takes winning, at minimum, the NFC for Garrett to keep his job

I think it takes an appearance in the nfc championship to save Garrett. We just need to go further than we have in the last couple decades and Jerry will give Garrett more time imo.

i wouldn’t mind missing the playoffs this season. i mean even if we make it , we aren’t winning it all. i want JG gone. missing playoffs only cements this.

The best coaches find ways to win. Tomlin won with a 3rd stringer qb named "Duck" who started his 1st nfl game. Payton was 4-0 with Brees out and Rivera was 4-0 with Newton out.

That said, what's Clapper's problem, he has his starting qb?! Clapper's job depends on figuring out how to win in less than ideal circumstances like other coaches. He struggles in those situations because he’s a planner.

His strength is long term decision making. When he has to work through short term problems, his flaws show. If he can’t fix that flaw, then he won’t be here next year because the Boys won’t win enough games.

I truly believe that anything positive from this team going forward will be in spite of Garrett.
10 years of Marvin Lewis v2.0 ... enough is enough.

No matter what. He is gone!

Garrett is likely gone if we don’t make the playoffs but it’s not a lock. When you listen to Jerry he continues to think coaching isn’t the problem. He continues to praise Garrett. Jerry said many years ago that any one of 100 coaches could have led the Cowboys to those Super Bowl wins. The way he runs the Cowboys it may make no difference who the head coach is. Look at the Commanders they continue to struggle despite numerous head coaches because of how Daniel Snyder runs that team. We continue to see a lot of the same problems with the Cowboys that we saw when Wade Phillips was the coach. Nothing is going to change unless Jerry changes.

Think it depends what happens in the playoffs. Think its NFC Championship game or better or Garrett isnt back pending a crazy scenario.

I said rising because they've won two in a row and after the Hawks and Pats, they should be home free if they don't slip up. That's all.
Plus the Bills aren't all that bad. I assure you they'll outcoach and outplay our defense when we meet up with them on Thanksgiving.

I have mentioned in past posts that we better not sleep on the Bills. I know Cole Beasley wants to stick it to us in his return to Big D. It will be a tough game for us especially after playing the Pats.
