If we're trying to get better, why keep the same guys?

Even the the best coach can’t make chicken salad out of chicken crap. When I first got into the gig many years ago, a wise old coach told me after we’d been soundly beaten by a team with superior talent, son…you’ve got to have the horses to run the races.
He's right, unfortunately, it's not easy to get top horses...a skilled jockey can really help
MM was to heavy for our horses, hopefully BS can fill the stirrups.

Aren't you the guy that claimed they didn't have any cap space?
Absolutely not. There is limited cap space as there is w/ all teams. When you start handing out huge contracts, you're going to limit yourself as to who else you can bring in. Basic math, dude.

This defense with the current cap and resigning to the strong player level, will still be growing and improving.

Sign a solid outside DT, and projected starters from this past season. Strength can be improved and in new staff leadership. There is some strong talent in this draft. Day 2 and Day 3 has an improving talent draft pool and does make a difference when well scouted and matched with this staff and their influence on team awareness and interactions.

After the players arrive, it then starts for the fan to watch development.

In the off season, one can just toss that 30 year old calendar the hell away.
We don't need solid at DT, we need a disruptor.

the title says it all. Easiest place to start: sign a good safety and pay for him by cutting one our current guys (Wilson cut post 6/1 saves $7M and Hooker almost $6M). Heck, cut them both and also play whichever kid you like the best or draft one or just sign two.

Osa is a solid player. They urgently needed sign him and they did. They will have at least a dozen new players on this roster. They intentionally raised the cap space for this year to build a better team. You are getting the new blood not only in players, but in the coaching staff as well.
Yes, Crawford...I mean Osa is absolutely instrumental.......

First, getting better is realitive. like how some guys use stats, our Pro BOWL DT lost a step because he had 1 less sack.

Are we going to get better? whats the result? 1 win? 1 and done?

The question we are waiting on is what does JJ want to do this season. We wont know that until the draft.

Can you keep your whole team and still get better? Some people thnk 1 player can lift a whole team to a SB win.

What other myths do we use? Chemistry? home town discount?

lets see what JJ does in the draft, that will tell us what we are doing.
1 player absolutely can. Don't get me wrong, the pieces must be in place, but several times one player has come in and made the difference. Just recently, Brady in Tampa, Stafford in LARams, Ogunjobi in Cincy(super bowl appearance), Barkley in Philly, PManning in DEN. Justin Smith came into SF as a FA back in 2008 and it led to super bowl contention and an appearance, and that w/ alarmingly bad Kapernick.

Osa was a very important move that has gotten positive feedback.
Was he? To be seen. Maybe he's taken that next step and became better against the run last season? Hard to say w/ horrific Mazi beside him.

They can't. NFL would fine them heavily if they don't meet the minimum on the salary cap.

They spend it unwisely, but they cannot keep it.
I meant they keep it internal ...... like giving Gallup and Jaylon huge contacts they did not deserve, just to make a point to other players at the time.

6.25 million cap hit for a solid healthy player in his prime vs. having absolutely nothing at the position going into free agency. 2 more dtackles on the way vs. needing 3.

Lol, like getting the cap space and getting deals done ahead of free agency isn't much.
It's not. This is the same olio that we couldn't stop the run w/ in the playoffs. Not sure if we even have 2 starting quality LBs, Mazi on the fringe of full blown bust, who knows what we have opposite Parsons at DE, we only have 1 WR, RB room is bare. We haven't even started.
