If you can have 1 super vet return would it be Witten, Ware or Romo?

Romo would make the biggest difference but Ware is the most logical. I like Witten but he is just a safety net. He will take some load off Zeke in the passing game. That is why Zeke's receptions went up so much!
 
I really want to say Romo because, despite the money we have poured into the offense, I think he instantly makes it top 5 again. BUT - I also worry that being out effectively for 2.5 years would have a great impact on him. He was a guy who went from throwing like 10k passes int he offseason and preparing to not having done it, would take a lot to come back and being able to pass the same way.

Despite being slower, Witten was still a strong starter in this league. I think he can still be a mid-tier player, which, with the youth, I would be fine with, but I don't think he's an insta-upgrade to this offense. Probably makes attacking the seam easier, which we need, and may help in the run game, but he doesn't necessarily win games.

Ware, if healthy, would be the biggest impact. He would only play nickel situations and would be preserved for a playoff push. He isn't a pro bowler anymore, but he improves the pass rush, allows the draft to be BPA as opposed to reach for an edge player if it comes to that, and can mentor a player like Armstrong.


Thing is, I don't really see him coming back. He's got the ring and was a bit player his last few years. Not worth it. But what do I know?
 
Romo, Witt, then Ware. Ware was one of my favorites of all time, I just didn't trust his ability over his last few years in Dallas or his last year with Denver.

Witt would be the safest pick, but Romo would make this team into a juggernaut with the pieces we currently have as long as he stays healthy. Ware would have to have a limited role to be effective

This. Witten effectively becomes the replacement for many of Zekes and some of Beasley's catches.

Witten is the safest pick because barring a freak play, he's the toughest guy in the league and he's had a year off to rest. Think of it like as if Witten broke his arm and had to miss last year and is coming back 100% and rested.

Romo sounds tantalizing considering we have Cooper and Gallup who consistently get open deep.... but not after he breaks his back or shoulder in week 2.

Before you waste a lot of time here, did you watch the Cowboys in 2013 and prior to that? How far back do you go, watching Ware play for us?

I agree with your points. If it’s a ready to go Romo, he would be the biggest improvement of any at their respective positions.

Come on man, stop with this crap. I know the Cowboys as well as anybody and I certainly know them better then you do. Answer the question or just stop trying to pretend you know what you are talking about. Posters know what's going on here. I'm not saying I know more then the next guy but I am saying I know what I'm talking about. You are talking about 2013 correct? Just admit it. It's the only year he played in Garrett, Kiffin and Marinelli's 43. Before that, it was Ryan and after that, he was in Denver so why not just admit it. You are talking about 2013 right? The year he had only 6 sacks correct? You are hanging your hat on that season correct? Just admit it. Is that the season you are pointing to?

And stop acting like you know what you are talking about when you probably never even watched Ware his entire career. Stop treating people like you know more when all you are doing is trying to cover up the fact that you don't know nearly as much as those who actually watched Ware in that season and before that. If you just treat people with a little respect and stop this pretend crap, you might actually find that posters will share their knowledge with you. Yeah if you could promise me Romo stays healthy I would take Romo. Of course that's why we moved on from Romo after him not being able to play for almost 2 seasons.
