If you could get any one running back to run behind our line, who would it be?

Are you not understanding the question was "past or present". Of course I'm not going with 46 year old Emmitt, I'm going with him in his prime.

I think you didn't understand his post.

Read it again, slowly.

I'd rather have Murray back.

I still think this was a huge mistake. Why fix something that wasn't broke? Especially since the team could afford him.

if the triumvirate of randle, mcfadden and dunbar doesn't produce, it will be a large chorus chanting this sentiment.

I am not sure if we played this game already but if you could choose any one past/present who would you go with? My guy would actually be Terrell Davis. I think he would fit perfectly as most would but his running style from his best years would be a pleasure to watch behind this line.

I'll take the 1963 version of Jim Brown or the 1973 version of OJ Simpson.

To say it another way, I'd take either of those guys in their 'prime' any other RB in NFL history and that includes any Cowboy.

Assuming it is a current player, I would say Jamal Charles. He has home run speed and is great at catching the ball out of the back field.

RB's today are bigger stronger faster than backs from any other era. So I'm not going to take a back that played 20 years ago. I'm a fan of what Marshawn Lynch can do. Power and elusiveness with good acceleration.

Obviously we're talking about backs in their prime and I'm not sure I've seen a better overall back than Adrian Peterson. He's got size, speed and tremendous power. The backs 20 plus years ago like Emmitt, Eric Dickerson and Earl Campbell didn't face the defenders with the size and speed we see in todays game. Peterson has shown in a passing league with no QB that he can carry a team on his back and although he has a good OL it's not The Great Wall of Dallas of the 90's. If you put a young Adrian Peterson even the Peterson of today behind the Cowboys OL he would rush for well over 2000 yards if he stayed healthy.
