"Shawshank" if I had to pick one.

Others in consideration...

"The Good, The Bad And The Ugly"
"Dawn Of The Dead" (original)
"The Shining"
"Jaws"
"Emperor Of The North"
"Aliens"
"Godzilla" (1954)
"Young Frankenstein"

That's a really nice list, though I'd substitute Alien for Aliens.

Arch, you make a very solid point.

Both films are terrific in their own ways. The first was more of your typical horror film and the last was more of an action movie. But both were great.

Sometime maybe they'll start a "Best of the Grade B" movies here and I would consider the movie "Alien" is based on– "It, The Terror From Beyond Space" .

There are plenty of favorites of mine, but the movie that blew my mind the most was Pulp Fiction. I wish I could watch it again for the first time.

Braveheart is a close second for me. I LOVE epic war/history movies...Gladiator, Braveheart, Troy, 300, Ben-Hur, Lawrence of Arabia, The Patriot, Saving Private Ryan, etc.
You should check out Iron Clad...came out in 2011 I think.

Some really good movies listed above.

1/ (tie) Lawrence of Arabia
1/ (tie) Once Upon A Time In America
3/ (tie) Fightclub
3/ (tie) Pulp Fiction
5/ (must be on any list somewhere) Godfather 1 and 2

Buts thats just my thoughts right now, will change in a minute.

Try to think if you were going into space forever, the last of your civilization to leave Earth, and you could only bring 3 non-scientific/historic etc.. entertainment only flicks.

What would they be? Arggh.

I had forgot about Pulp Fiction. Great cast, great director and great storyline. Jules and Vincent Vega were two of the best characters ever.

I know it's a tough one to just single out one but I would have to go with Lonesome Dove.

I can't.

Mission
Amistad
A Few Good Men

and a bunch of others are all up there for me.

Deja Vu & most Denzel flicks
Field of Dreams
The Rookie, Rudy, (if you've ever chased the improbable)
Yes, A Few Good Men was good.

If I had to go with one, it just might be Deja Vu, because I so love the concept of time travel - which then reminds me of Somewhere in Time (Reeve & Seymour) :)

I must confess there are several in this thread I have never taken the time to watch including any of the Godfather or Lord of the Rings.

Some of the final scenes, showing Christopher Reeve literally dying from lost love, is still very powerful stuff in my opinion.
