no. YOU SAID players must attend OTAs so you can bag on roy now cause he wasn't there. if you show me a post where you bashed ware last year i'll tell you you're being stu... silly.

i just want consistancy. many others were NOT there last year. please show me your rage from LAST YEAR or just say "sorry, i'm being intentionally hypocritical" and i'll move along.

if you pick and choose you're not being unbiased - THATs my point.

i dont give a stack of petrefied hammered moose **** who's at OTAs when the season is still almost 4 months away.

the IGS can fret over today.

Frankly, I wasn't really aware that guys missed stuff last off-season - perhaps I didn't seek out that information or perhaps it wasn't widely reported.

As I noted in SEVERAL places over and over and will note again -- what has me bugged -- and NOTE that I never posted on this before I saw this quote -- was that teammates are calling him out for this. I said that is what tore it for me and have been consistently hammering that point. You show me somewhere last year where players called guys who were gone out and I'll be appropriately outraged in retrospect if you like.

Spears, Terrell Owens, Terry Glenn, Julius Jones, Jason Ferguson, and Ware missed OTA's last year, and I think there were one or two more.

I'll see if I can find some links.

and three of those guys had terrible seasons.

I hate them all for missing time.

Happy Ice?

To be fair he didn't express disappointment in ANY player, but he was disappointed.

So much for being so excited about the new system
That said, there were no massive threads like these about Roy.

well that's probably fair when we say no one cared last year cause no one did. i just find it convenient to the anti-roy crowd that suddenly what we didn't care about last year we care about NOW simply because it's roy.

for many people roy has simply gone too far and no matter what he does they'll see him as "wrong" and that's my main complaint cause it's not fair to roy and not really logical but rather emotionally driven.

all the good things he does mean nothing now cause any 1 bad things will wipe out 20 atta-boys.

maybe roy is on his way out. i simply don't care. i'd rather he found God on the 50 yard line after a collision that rocked all our worlds but all the complaining in the world won't make that happen or hurry him out of here.

but they do divide us all much more than normal cause we've all pushed our views so hard on this and NOTHING has changed. just some shattered keyboards, mice stuck in a wall, and maybe some screens punched.

roy is still here.
roy still had a bad year last year.
and people just can't let it go and eat their popcorn right now, we gotta judge each day as whatever happened that day will be THE EVENT that gets roy gone.

some people want roy to fail just so they can be right. that's sad.

Forgive me if I do.

Last time I checked, voicing an opinion was allowed here. Yes?

Maybe you should nod your head up and down now?

Amazing how it's OK for one side of the fence to blast the other.....
That is what I don't agree with Stash. Both sides are critical of the other. It isn't one sided. It isn't that one side yells more. It isn't that one side is ruder. It isn't that one side is Pollyanna and the other Sad Sack.

It is a discussion and if the "bashers" think that the "apologists" should shut up, they need to think again. And vice versa.

I don't see an issue and think it is being blow WAY out of proportion. In 2006, guys struggled then they missed 2007 OTAs. In 2007 Roy struggled and he missed the first 2008 OTA.

Is the world going to end because of it? Shake your head side to side.

I'm not trying to be rude, I'm just voicing my opinion interspersed with a few facts about the History of players missing OTAs. If that honestly offends you...oh well. I don't talk in eggshells. Don't know what to tell you.

roy could burn a bisquet in an easy bake oven and there will be a 10 page thread calling him the anti-christ about it.

And I find it convenient for you to continue to slap me with the anti-Roy label.

I'm absolutely NOT anti-Roy or anti any of our players. I will be critical of them. But if Roy were to suck, I'd take absolutely no pleasure in that, unlike the real anti-Roy people on this board. I WANT Roy to play well, I WANT to be wrong about his crap leadership, I WANT to be wrong about his seemingly deteriorating ability to intimidate, I WANT to be wrong about the target on his chest.

But as I've noted again and again, when teammates call him out for missing time, then it suggests to me that folks on this board aren't the only ones questioning his commitment. And unless he is 100% committed, I won't be wrong.

Yes, yes he is.

And I am nodding.

Hos is usually a very knowledgable and respectful moderator and poster.

But when it comes to this subject, things change.

I don't see how it's OK to blast people who share a different opinion.

Ever.
For the record Stash, my all time favorite teacher (Mr. Sauer, Physics, Chemistry I & II, and Physical Science) used to ask questions then say "nod your head up and down" or "shake your head from side to side."

To my knowledge no student ever got offended by it and most of us used to laugh. I was saying it in a purely joking manner and in a "tribute" to him since I am copycatting him.

It was NOT meant to be offensive in any way, shape, or form.

I don't feel I was disrespectful to you and I don't feel this subject makes me disrespectful. The reason I say that is because when I am disrespectful, people actually do lose my respect and I have not felt that way about you. Perhaps that is not a 2 way street given the fact I deigned to disagree, but I hope not. That's your call.

Sorry, but it sounded condescending and insulting to me. I understand if that was unintentional, but that's how it read.

I have a great deal of respect for you as a poster and Administrator here and I feel you do a great job. But I have noticed that you seem to let emotion get the better of you concerning this subject.

I think everyone needs to understand that there are many differing viewpoints on this subject but all deserve respect and everyone deserves the right to be heard (or read or whatever).

sorry, i find it too much a one-sided affair when you hold roy to MUST BE AT OTA when last year you don't even know who was there.

it makes it all about roy, and not the events around him. those are pushed to be anti-roy as needed.

ellis? i agree. he should have shut up.
newman? he didn't call out roy.

other than those two, i'm not sure what you mean and just don't care anymore.

I think the post the WG showed noted that I did comment on the issue last year.

Read the Mosley article -- a defensive starter who Mosley didn't name said Roy should have been there -- that they always have the OTAs at the same time. That's what I meant and expressed like a billion times already.

I am pretty much the same with every subject though Stash. When do you ever see me let up? What subject do I lob softballs at?

Maybe you feel differently on this subject because I am openly disagreeing with you that you feel differently about it? I don't know if that's the case or not. It wouldn't be the first time that has happened on this forum. Last year I offended someone for posting the word PITA and saying it stood for Pain In The ***. It is the name of my neighbor's cat and I posted it trying to be funny. But since that poster felt it was about him I had a year of drama. It wasn't about him. It isn't about you. Both instances are me using phrases to do what I always do and that is debate passionately.

I do understand that there are different viewpoints. I share mine. Sometimes in a very confrontational manner. I can post hundreds of links to my posts to back this up and on subjects that are not Roy. I always do this.

I think this subject is being blown out of proportion. That is my opinion and I will share my opinions same as anyone else. The same way I do on every subject that interests me. I am a blabbermouth poster and I know it. I do my best to share my opinions in a joking manner, but I do get in people's faces. Again, I don't deny that. I do it as a poster, not as a Mod or Admin, and I have never lost respect for a poster simply for disagreeing with me. Not once, not ever.

Again, I have no problem with you sharing your opinion. But I don't see any need for attacks or being condescending.

I haven't lost respect for you as a poster, I was more surprised at your approach.

But if that's your style, it's duly noted.

Yeah Hos can be like a dog with a bone sometimes.

But I think folks on both sides have been borderline insulting and aggressive. Comes with the territory when folks are passionate about a subject.
