id like to get rivers over here, I really dont wanna have to spend our first though, i think it can be done without giving up a first.

I would try to put together a package of picks, and players if neccessary to trade up and get Matt Leinart if at all possible, or Phillip Rivers. He could sit behind Bledsoe for a year or two before taking over. If Henson suddenly starts living up to his emmense potential than I'd probably change my thought process, but we are building one heck of a team and need a great QB to complete our next dynasty. If no trade up, then I would like to try to trade down like we did with Buffallo to have two first rounders in 2007. We could address safety and O line with our 2006 second round picks(Michael Huff or Jason Allen?) and then be sitting pretty in 2007 when there will be some studs available like possibly Vince Young or Brady Quinn (if neccessary) or WR's Dwayne Jarrett(USC), Calvin Johnson(GT), Tedd Ginn Jr.(OSU) and maybe even Adrian Peterson.

I think you have to look at value for the # pick you are at in the first round. since we are likely to play predominantly in 3-4 next year i would think LB in first round or i would say wr.

After going LB and WR i would draft OL, though i think by the end of the season Tucker and Pettiti might suprise, still we have some aging lineman and we need depth. I think we would do better to sign FS than draft one, next year is our superbowl run and dont want a rookie at FS.

This is supposed to be one of the deepest center classes in years so I think we could get a good one ine the 3rd or 4th round maybe.

Although I think we should give Pettiti a chance, I wouldn't oppose bringing in a tackle to give him some competition at least

First 3 picks BPA out of OL, LB, WR.

We need a guard, tackle, two LBs, WR, safety, DT and CB.

My choice in the 1st rnd would be Lindell White from USC to replace A-Train and pound it in from the 10-5 yrd line. I doubt he will be there if we continue to improve and thus sacrifice draft position, and I'm not sure if BP and JJ will ever again take a USC player, after the Jacob Rogers debacle.

Many of the best OLmen are taken in the later rounds. Didn't Tex, Tom and Gil always say use your higher picks for skill players. You can always find OL and DL players on the 2nd day...

Keyshawn Johnson went to USC.

Just cuz Rogers was/is a huge freakin' coward doesn't mean all USC players are huge freakin' cowards.

Oh, sure with Jones, an emerging Barber, a promising Thompson and needs at OL, LB, WR and safety, let's just use our first on a RB.

Positions Dallas needs an upgrade at:

OL - Dallas' line has been inconsistent this year. Overall, they have done a pretty good job of protecting Bledsoe but have really struggled at times in the running game. An infusion of youth and talent would be welcome. Fortunately for Dallas, 2006 represents a deep OL group, particularly at OT where Dallas is most in need of talent and depth.

FS - Keith Davis is a killer special teams player, but unless the light comes on in the next eight games looks miscast as a starter. Willie Pile is just adequate. A veteran starter, or a young ballhawk in the draft, would be a nice upgrade.

PK - Unless Sushiam proves himself down the strech this is an absolute need. It may finally be time to spend a draft pick on a young guy.

Positions Dallas could use depth at:

LB - As of today we have two proven players at OLB and three at ILB. Unless Fowler steps up, another veteran or young prospect would really serve to round this group out nicely.

QB - Tony Romo? Drew Henson? The Cowboys are one hit away from possible disaster. A veteran caretaker would be a nice addition.

Positions Dallas needs to think about for the future:

WR - Terry Glenn and Keyshawn, while effective are getting up there. Patrick Crayton was showing the ability to be a solid starter before his injury, but Dallas still needs to develop a future gamebreaker at the WR position. Taking a shot on a physical specimen in round 2 and seasoning him behind the vets for a couple of years might be the way to go.

DT - La'Roi Glover and Jason Fergueson are getting up there. Thomas Johnson has looked promising in limited playing time, but another big, young run stuffer would be nice.

QB - Bledsoe has got about 3-4 years after this season. It is time to decide whether or not Drew Henson is the future.

Jason Hanson, of the Detroit Lions was a first rounder way back when. He has a had a pretty damn good carrer. Still, I agree that a kicker in the first round would be a bad move.

I really want Bobby Carpenter, OLB from OSU. I really think that he would be the perfect fit for this defense. He's got the perfect blend of athleticism, size, and smarts. He is an excellent pass rusher, and has the ability to drop into zone coverage or turn and run with a TE.

He is an ideal 3-4 OLB, who probably won't last until we pick. If that is the case, we ought to take one of the premeir safeties.

Our defense is a safety and a linebacker away from being completely dominanting, whereas I don't see any potential draft picks that would put our offense over the top right away. Next year we should have our sights set on on the superbowl, which means that we are going to need two guys who can step in and fill our two big needs on defense, right away.

I think that all of our other picks should be spent on a kicker and offense. I'd definitely like to see us pick up another OG.

Best available player at whatever position except RB. We are finally seeing what kind of team you can field with a deep talent pool. Focus on bringing in talent, even if it seems redundant, and don't let perceived need distract you.
