I'll be surprised if we beat the Bears

I was thinking the same thing while I was watching the Chargers-Bears game. If they ran a TE out on a pattern their Tackle on the weak side was hopeless as they over-compensated for Merriman. If you watch that game, on the Bears first series Grossman was almost decapitated by Shaun Phillips who came at him unblocked because they sent three guys to block Castillo and Merriman and left only two for Phillips, Olshansky and Williams. The back was clueless, and the Chargers had good pressure all day.

Their Oline is overrated.

I actually havent even watched the chargers bears game. I was just suprised to see the chiefs kicking their tails up front, particularly on the right side.....especially since it was a home game...

Fred miller just looked bad.

one more thing, the bears were trying to get hester the ball on bubble screens and reverses and I expect them to set up a reverse some where early to keep spencer honest and then actually run it later in the game right at spencer.

but again, fred miller looked really poor. and grossman and benson seemingly did not recognize the blitzing going on up front.

Anyone else feel this way?

It doesn't matter where you play or who you play in front of. The question is, do you want to win the game. If the answer is yes, then the Cowboys should prevail.

btw, I'm going to verbally pummel you if the Cowboys win.

A man has to be confident. I am confident and I am confident in that the Cowboys can win Sunday night. True confidence exudes leadership, leadership leads to winning. A lack of confidence exudes weakness. Weaknesses are exposed and being exposed leads to losing.

Chin up, if you aren't confidence, you aren't trying hard enough. If you are afraid to try, you've already lost.

Don't be a loser. Go Cowboys!

I haven't read all the posts in this thread, but my biggest fear is that the Bears will use Devin Hester as a WR. With his speed it won't take long for him to get down field and I don't think even TNew can keep up w/ him. Since the long ball is Grossman's forte, I look for the Bears to attack our 2ndary using Hester on fly patterns...

You are probably right.

I seriously doubt that Newman would be covering Hester if he plays at WR. We'll probably leave Newman one on one with Berrian and shadow Hester with a S over the top. He's not enough of a threat to put our shutdown guy on him.

I hope you're right!...

New year, same old crap. BTW, Hos assures me that "Skin's fan" cracks at my expense constitute a personal attack, so consider this post duly flagged. Believe it or not, I have rights too. One of the them is to post benign, pro-Cowboy messages in a thread without my loyalty being questioned or mocked. No more games.
Bit melodramatic, no? That being said, I usually enjoy your posts.

Good Gawd, man. I didn't say I was a nervous wreck over this game. I didn't say I thought we couldn't stay on the field with the Bears. I didn't say they'd blow us out by 50. I just said I'd be surprised if we won.

But most of all, whether I have confidence or not has less than zero to do with how the team plays. You gave a great speech for someone actually about to get on the field, though.

I just watched your Terry Glenn video. Man he is awesome! It'd be really sweet to get him back this year.

Hopefully himself along with ellis will be back this season. If tank johnson can contribute anything this year then this team will get a serious influx of talent late in the year.

Hopefully that will be a good thing.

I am normally nervous before all the games. However this one has me feeling like a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs.

I will say this though. There have been times in the past where we play well and win against teams that most feel we would lose against (last year vs the Colts) and other times when we lose to a team most feel we should beat (lions).

So I am hoping we come out and win the game. I do expect a slow start to the offense but if it is a close score going into the 4th I think we will pull it out.

Still, this is a game vs a team that really has me worried.
