Why worry about something none of us have any control over? Just enjoy the game, root for the Cowboys, and hope that we'll win.

Go Cowboys!!!

I hope to never see that tactic ever again. I don't want to turn anything over to our defense to hold someone. I hate prevent defense and I prevent offense too.

I don't want to run up the score, but I'd rather do that than just the old kill the clock stuff. One more score will kill the clock too.

From your mouth to Tom Landry's ears....

Well... there will be a time when we need the defense to hold a low scoring game.... ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh eeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkkkk

Wouldnt it be wild if we won the SB with this soft defense while the high octane offense scored 30-40 pts a game...

This defense won't be soft. It needs to get its sea legs. By season's end I expect it to be every bit as dangerous as the offense is.

I just think many of us had too high of expections from the defense with WP as a HC, thinking we would have totally different scheme, attacking scheme. But with TNew and Furgy getting hurt along with some new guys getting adjusting to the Wade's scheme, the progress hasn't been what we thought we were going to see. But I agree with Hostile that when we get TNew back on the field and others learn their position bit better and the Wade's philosophy, the defense should be lot better, imo.

While I hope you are right. Although, I think this defense will continue to give up the big play. Our players still look lost out there. I think it may actually be an intelligence thing. They dont understand the scheme? or ? When we get beat on defense its not just a big play... its an embarassing big play.

If I had to guess... I would say that the offense would get better and better and the defense has a ceiling... its not very high either. Even with Newman in there last year... this defense got smoked.

Hopefully Hamlin can be more effective with Tnew. Thats the only difference really

COWBOYS AT BEARS

8:15 p.m. Ch. 4. Bears by 3, 41

JIM DANDIES: The Bears' offense, whichs ranks 29th in points, 30th in yards per game, 29th in passing yards and 22nd in rushing yards, is putrid. Chicago (1-1) stumbled past a horrible Chiefs team last week after managing only a field goal in a Week 1 loss to San Diego. The Cowboys (2-0) are certainly not suffering a Bill Parcells hangover. Dallas leads the league in scoring, averaging 41 points per game, and presents a huge challenge for the Bears D, which is ranked fifth in points allowed per game (12). Marion Barber has averaged 6.2 yards per carry for 154 yards and three TDs and Tony Romo has thrown six TD passes in two games. Chicago QB Rex Grossman (32 of 57, 305 yards, TD, 3 INT) is looking like he did coming out of Florida four years ago - overmatched.

IF I WERE A BETTING MAN: Cowboys and the under.

Beating the Bears defense will be tough, and I would feel better about it if we were playing them in Dallas. That's not to say that we can't beat them there, but we'll need to play error-free ball in order to do so.

i just watched most of the chiefs bears game...

I am feeling more confident about our defense. Not because of rex grossman, but because of fred miller.

Holy moly. He played extremely poor agains the chiefs, and benson did not pick up blitzers all that well. THis could be the game ware and spencer hit the qb while he is still holding the ball.

I was thinking the same thing while I was watching the Chargers-Bears game. If they ran a TE out on a pattern their Tackle on the weak side was hopeless as they over-compensated for Merriman. If you watch that game, on the Bears first series Grossman was almost decapitated by Shaun Phillips who came at him unblocked because they sent three guys to block Castillo and Merriman and left only two for Phillips, Olshansky and Williams. The back was clueless, and the Chargers had good pressure all day.

Their Oline is overrated.

Yeah-Miller is like 34, and is the weak link on that OL. He was never a GREAT OT to begin with. Remember when he played for the Rams in that SB against TN-Kearse just owned him in the second half.

And from what I've read on the BMB, yeah-Benson doesn't pick up the blitz well like Thomas did, and they feel OT is a glaring weakness.
