People should not be too down on him.
The fact that he is playing is a miracle of sorts and although he is not great, he is a lot better than some are giving him credit for due to his physical condition.
If he continues to learn and he continues to heal...he could be one of those all pro level players in the future.
I get that and hope for that, but yesterday he looked like an undersized, small school rookie.

He is playing at 80-85% AND in just 2 games into his career.
Patience is going to be required with Jaylon. 2018 is the year we will see the guy you saw at Notre Dame.
This shouldn’t be a surprise to anybody should it?
Exactly ..............Lee was horrible yesterday........missed tackles.......was a step late on passes and blitzesIn fairness, so did just about everyone else on defense. Lee was pretty bad too.
Not trying to be rude but my guess is that you don't truly understand enough about the LBer position in the NFL to determine how ready he really is after only 2 games. Not saying he won't ever be good, but this guy's nowhere near ready. Swallowed up in run game and can't cut to ball.
ExactomundoHe needs 2-3 years. The good news is that he is still so young. If he had been a 5th year senior coming out of college then I wouldn't want anything to do with him (I don't care about how much potential they thought he'd have). He's still only 22 this season so he's got the benefit of time.
Pretty tough to pick out specific players. Yesterday's disaster was a team effort. In fairness, so did just about everyone else on defense. Lee was pretty bad too.

Without knowing the assignments and play calls you are most likely making this statement with Madden and Sunday tv watching experience.
This is common with us fans. We see a CB give up a pass and just assume its him that blew it. Ignoring the reality that we dont know the coverage and if the safety was playing too deep ect.
the guy will be fine regardless of 1 game.

That being said, Byron Jones was horrendous.
