People should not be too down on him.

The fact that he is playing is a miracle of sorts and although he is not great, he is a lot better than some are giving him credit for due to his physical condition..

This is in no way any consolation... considering we spent a high second round pick on the guy AND gave him a red shirt year. I'm not saying I expect him to be Lawrence Talylor this year or anything but marveling that he can play at all is nice from a third party perspective but as a cowboys fan that wants a great player...him playing is just a nice story but unless he beasts out then it was yet another high risk wasted second round pick, which would be the second in very recent times. Love JS as a person but I need him to ball.

But he's so fast and so intelligent!

Actually watch some game film, folks. If he doesn't gain back his athleticism (Which is already overrated), he's an average LB.

If he continues to learn and he continues to heal...he could be one of those all pro level players in the future.
I agree. I don't see why everyone's down on him. He's just coming back from a catastrophic injury and is no where near 100 percent, yet he's starting.

I get that and hope for that, but yesterday he looked like an undersized, small school rookie.
In fairness, the entire team looked like undersized, small school rookies. I'll give him time. I believe he'll end up being what we all hope he'll be.

Jaylon will be fine. He didn't play last year and is not 100% recovered from his knee injury. Everyone expects the guy to be Dick Butkus 2 games into his NFL career.

Realistically, Jaylon is physically a work in progress in terms of his pending recovery. Also, the entire team underperformed, while he was just another spoke in the wheel of failure that prevailed yesterday. Let's be patient and see what he's able to do in the games to come. To be fair, he was rushed into service prematurely when Hitchens got hurt. Hopefully, he'll improve.
