To me, this would jolt up the intensity in the defensive side of the ball:

1st round - Roquan Smith (6'1, 236 lbs) Georgia
2nd round - Malik Jefferson (6'2, 236 lbs) Texas

Current depth and the future would be set for the linebackers.
I hate to burst your draft bubble, but Smith won't get past the Raiders and Jefferson is probably a 3rd-4th rounder

All right Lawrence and the real bubble machine, let's BOTH own up to a signature bet that includes both of your elements of disproof. Have the guts?

The offensive line should be close to tops in the NFL, without further additions.

The secondary got youth and upgrades, last season.

The linebacker group now needs great upgrades as a unit. Do it in this draft, and not just slot fills with good fuzzies, as with fan favorites.
Our offensive line needs a LG, if not we could struggle some on offense

Won't hurt this fan's feelings...I prefer either Williams or Hernandez in the first round, if truth be known.

I started a topic that placed focus on linebacker...and that still is valid in a need for resolution.

Both of these elements have to be met:

Smith won't get past the Raiders and Jefferson is probably a 3rd-4th rounder

If they are met, I have to put in my signature block: I should have had better listening skills and was schooled by CowboyChris.

If both are not met, than you have to have a signature that states: I should really listen once in a while...and not substitute a personal bias for a valid discussion.

That signature bet is to remain in effect for the first month of the 2018 regular season.

It was your bubble...I'll do the bet that neither Smith or Jefferson are Cowboys within the first 2 rounds

Jefferson screams Bruce Carter to me. All the tools in the world, but they don't matter if you can't find the ball.

Didn't think that one's wallet was where the mouth was claiming fact...
you made the claim to take Smith and Jefferson....yet you won't put your wallet where your mouth is...all you have to do is get one of the 2 right.

Over reacting is trainable at the professional level. He is a hustler and not as presented on much of this thread. He has to have a lot going for him to come into a discussion of the top 100 players, by most accounts.

Look, get your facts straight up front. I said that I wouldn't mind those two taken high up in the draft. I still stand by that, but you are the one backing out from what was actually stated. This with you is over now...but your efforts were pretty weak. Stick to direct quotes unless proving a valid, but FOOTBALL point...

LB is a need, some could say the top need. I really like the LBs from 3rd round and on. Personally I would go Hernandez in the first, maybe Washington in the 2nd.

Then we could go Leonard, Jewell, Griffen, Cichy etc. A combo of 2 or 3 would make us a really good team.

And all Bruce Carter and Darron Lee needed was a little coaching too. IME, the guys who were poor at diagnosing and reading in college seldom improve in the pros.

Talk about agenda driven points...place into a relevant setting and prove your point.

Prove he is poor at diagnosis and also is doomed to failure. Doesn't match already, with his grade by all sources.

Just quit making things up to support a personal stance...

Agree, he’s kinda meh

Anybody in day two of the draft, fits that gross analysis...at some level.

I started an OP based upon needing two strong candidates via the draft. That was and still is the basis of the post. Want an argument, go ahead and start it off.

I like both presented linebackers...I was a linebacker.

Don't add ad naseum to a view that he just doesn't meet a generalized criteria. Fact is, he will be picked on day two of the draft...by all sources.

End of the relevance for the Texas linebacker being the top choice. He still is a pretty darned good choice.

And, linebacker need is very relevant for the draft...and a pair.

Yeah, but I fed like Leonard better and also Jewell even though he’s not nearly as athletic.

I can't prove anyone's doomed to failure.

But I can turn on the first Malik Jefferson cutup on Youtube, watch the first play of the game, and see him completely misread a dive play.
