By the way Rico's two TD catches are the two deepest throws I can recall thrown to a Cowboys TE in almost a decade. I don't recall us ever throwing a pass over 20 yards to any tightend ever. Certainly not to Witten.

If Gathers is going to be on the active roster he needs to do ST. He has done fine blocking on FG but he needs to learn how to break down and tackle in space. He could easily take over Escobar's role on the offense from years past.

If he can make it on the roster he is a matchup nightmare. He's too big even for LB. Normally it's too big for DBs and too fast for LB. He's just plain too big for anyone. His speed and quickness are also underrated particularly for his size.

Might only be a 3rd down player until he learns to get his hips behind his run blocking to drive people. He run blocks a little too much like he pass blocks. That being said his ability to improve from game to game is remarkable.

timb2--- I totally agree with you and i might raise you and say maybe better?...i was watching practice film the last 2 days and man it dont matter how tight the db's cover him because of his size and basketball knowledge of getting position and his crisper running routes he already looks like a pro..in fact let me ask you when you watched his TD's in both practice games...didn't it look like his route running and position and catching ability look professional?...sure did to me
