I'm convinced that Coach Prime is the best, last and only move for Head Coach under Jerry

This team atmosphere is already considered a circus.
Just imagine if Prime came here. It would be even worse.
Prime would have different celebs on the sidelines during games and
I am sure Jerry would love it and join them.
The media wants to see it...because it would be a crap show of mega purportions. The media hates us....Hence why the big push from the media to make it happen. Then your getting the big push against Kellen...because it would make us respectable again. Pay attention who is reporting what...and why. It's a big game of peddling influence.

I would have LMAO @ this idea not too long ago but the more I watch and read, the more I’m convinced this is the ONLY last move for Jethro.
  • Jerry is in awe of Deion like he was with Parcells.
  • All of Deion’s colleagues report that he is the Alpha in all operations he runs. This may be the last man that can control the ship Jerry built. AND he can out hype the hype master. He would know how to give Jerry what he wants and still be looked at by the players as the final authority.
  • He’s a former player. A lot of new HC from Detroit to Houston who prove the value of Ex-Player Head Coaches who can relate better with the players.
  • For those saying he doesn’t watch enough film or X and O, NFL HCs are more the CEO than a coach in the NFL these days. Something that McCarthy was not good at. Jimmy knew how to push the buttons and so does Deion.
  • Zimmer is Deion’s boy and would come back and be loyal to Deion. He worked with Prime at Jackson State and Colorado, and has a close relationship going back to Deion’s playing days. No more Garrett forced on Wade, or Kellen Moore forced on McCarthy. Deion would actually want Zimm as his DC.
  • Deion is no nonsense despite what you might think from his commercial days. Anyone who watched him at Colorado knows he is a hard*** who will bring a tight grip and not be afraid to call out players who aren’t cutting it. His first day at Colorado he told half his players they wouldn’t cut it.
  • Who knows, we may very well get some shenanigans with the draft and Hunter and Shadeur not playing for anyone but their lifelong Coach.
  • Stephen can’t recruit in free agency worth a darn. With Deion we now have someone who can convince players to sign AND convince Jethro to spend the cash in free agency.
  • Deion is ready. NFL player for several franchises. HS to small college to big time college. This is not like Witten or some of the crazy out there choices. Deion has proven at every level he can turn ships around.
  • Go watch last year’s Sounds From the Sidelines when Deion and Shadeur met with Jerry in the pre-game. There is a tight bond there. They even muted the camera while they talked. These guys were already talking business. They have a bond that no coach has had with Jerry since his former college roommate Jimmy was here.
  • Deion is fresh off the college circuit and has a team of scouts and analysts who are probably more knowledgeable of recent college players than our current crew.
  • Deion has proven he can handle the spotlight that the Dallas HC position receives. He will pushback and manipulate the media just like Parcells and Jimmy did.
It could crash and burn, but I don’t really see any other option at this point until Jethro croaks. The franchise is what it is and needs someone who can outshine, outhype and out-alpha Jethro. Coach Prime is your man.
No no no that would start off good, but would quickly become a hot mess, Deion very well could be the one who gets Jerry to back off and let him change the culture and do it his way, but in the end it will make Jerry take control again even tighter. These guys are not college kids and they will grow tired of Deion and his ways very quickly and things will go bad fast.
Deion might quit in the middle of a season when it does. Deion is 13-12 in his 2 yrs as coach, He’s on pace match kliff kingsbury college record

Great points and mirrors the evolution of my own thinking.

As others have said, at the very least it will be entertaining as opposed to the uninspired snoozefest we've been served up for the last couple decades.

It's "will" crash and burn.

The hype around Deion is crazy. We need a football coach, not a PR guy who can out "alpha" Jerry.

Deion turned around CU because he was able to use his popularity and connections to get a crap ton of transfers in and basically out talent most of the teams he faced. He won't have that luxury in the NFL. When he faced teams that matched or were close in talent, or well coached, they lost. They got smoked by BYU, got smoked by Nebraska, smoked by Kansas and then lost to KSU. There wasn't a CU game where you came away thinking Deion really outcoached the other guy.

This team should be looking at people like Ben Johnson, not Deion. Geezus this franchise is so warped.

I think it's super unlikely to happen, and he'd probably be a disaster as a coach, but it would be great in that it would at least upset the equilibrium/stagnation/permanent death spiral we are locked in.

We'e just been through a lethargic, depressing season. Sub-.500, led by Cooper Rush & Mike McCarthy - far from the most dynamic or confidence-inspiring guys on the block. For the second half of the campaign, Dallas fielded a team with only two legitimate stars (Lamb & Parsons). Little wonder fan interest fell off. And we know that hits Jerry where it hurts him most.

The more I stop worrying about "circuses," and think about it from purely pecuniary & entertainment-value standpoints, the more I become convinced that Jerry might be nuts NOT to hire Deion. Definitely the hire that aligns most closely with his values.

Then you are caving and giving Jerry what he desires almost as must as money - media attention. Deion has no business coaching in the NFL, but he will sure as hell create tons of media attention, something that Jerry will probably pay handsomely for.
I can't argue against your point. Like I said, I'm bored with the Cowboys and this would temporarily cure that. Admittedly, it's selfish on my part

Jerry was never 'in awe' of Parcells. He went on record in a drunken rant that provided the real reason why he hired Parcells. He wanted to get the fans off his nuts because he needed fan support to get Jerry world built.

Do you really think Jerry is going to relinquish any control to Deion? Not a chance in hell. Hiring Deion accomplishes one thing and one thing only - it keeps the circus rolling. Jerry thrives on media attention, and a stupid hire like Deion will certainly keep that ball rolling as well. Deion's rah rah BS isn't going to work in the NFL any more than it did for Chip Kelly or Urban Meyer.
or Lou Holtz before them

Jerry has to do something because the worst thing to happen to a sports team is starting to happen to the Cowboys…..

Fans starting to not care anymore.

Aaron Glenn checks all of the good boxes you mentioned about Deion but has actual NFL experience and could bring the Detroit OL coach to be OC and help our rapidly deteriorating O-Line. I want Aaron Glenn, not Deion. Former player, knows Jerry, all business, etc.

Deion Sanders has a much stronger identification and reaction skill for both offensive and defensive passing games influence. This is now a passing NFL.

I feel a little better about the possibility after reading this. I don't think it's the best move but I can see it happening.

The same people that want Deion in Dallas are the same people that would be dogging the Eagles, Giants, or Commanders for having interest in Deion.

You only like it because the Cowboys are doing it and you feel like you are required to support anything and everything the Cowboys do or you’re not a real fan.
Deion doesn’t fit those teams the way he fits here. And the people that are saying he doesn’t fit here aren’t grasping the entire picture.

If you want the circus to remain a circus then Deion is your guy.

The Eagles, Commanders, and Giants are serious franchises.

If that best you’re saying then I agree.
