Tolbert was a wasted pick.
We don’t know that yet. Surprising he can’t beat out Fehoko and Houston? Absolutely. But Fehoko brings ST value and Houston supposedly did better in camp.

Shoot I was furious they brought Brown back after 6 years as I saw him as a wasted roster spot. But it takes players time to develop. This isn’t madden.

Noah was ok vs the Bucs imho. This week he showed out, so he's the leading WR for the Cowboys now.

Gallup n Brown on the Outside and CeeDee in the Slot. Lamb looks to be more of a slot guy. I don't know where James Washington fits. Also, when the 2 injured WRs return who's getting cut at WR? Tough decisions ahead.

I honestly think they find a way to use Fehoko next game. He was open out there. Just didn't get the look.

If you go look at his routes in some of those plays today you can see what the Cowboys like about him. He's a load. But with less weight than last year, he looks a lot more nimble. He's a try-hard, smart player, who obviously works hard. Not great speed, but smart and pretty smooth runner.

I have to say . . . I've always been a bit optimistic about Brown. But most of my hunch about him was doubt, because he's been around for so long.

I'm impressed by how gritty he is. Today, he played well within the system. Did several different things out there that showed he might be more than just the best blocking WR in the league. He's starting to look legit out there.

As someone else pointed out earlier, Noah Brown has more yards so far than Amari Cooper, and as many TDs.

While I'm pointing out how good Noah Brown looked today, it was against a Bengals defense that's not nearly as good as the Bucs.

In fact, the Bucs held the Saints to only 10 points to say, which tells me we may have faced the best defense in the league game 1.

I've always been a fan of Noah Brown.

Not all WRs need to have #1 WR potential.

I think Brown is at least as good a Cedrick Wilson.

It was obvious in training camp that he is much quicker than in the past.

There is zero downside to keeping Washington on IR...

Then they have him later in the season if needed.

That's right.

I honestly don't think they release Fehoko, but I could be wrong. I think he fits into their plans right now. We'll see. If he gets cut, he gets cut. I think he'll show up soon, though.

I liked what Sam Williams did today.

It would help if the didn't have a false start at a very critical time in the game...

Was that on Simi? I didn't see the first 4 minutes of the 2nd half. So must have been then.

I seriously just saw 5 holds on one play....You just can't getting a holding call on a GB O-lineman. Pathetic.

We got away with a few things out there today, to be honest.

That ref crew was the same ref crew that we had in our practices.

Wait............So are you saying that you worried too much about our young receivers?

Meredith to Hayes. Staubach to Pearson. White to Hill. Aikman to Irvin. Romo to Owens. Prescott to Cooper. And now Rush to Brown.

Yes I am joking, but super happy for Noah Brown. Worked so hard and is finally making good on his opportunity.

Romo to Dez you sound crazy.

I mentioned this in the game thread, but The Break talked about Rush and Brown having good chemistry in their show the other day. That they have been on the practice squad/scout team together for a long time. I have to say, they were on to something. Those two definitely seem to have a better energy together than what Dak can provide with Brown.

Bro, you and @Pass2Run make good points.

I appreciate the civilized and respectful banter. Wish some others looked at y'all and realized things are much better like this.

People will call me a homer. But I like this team because of the defense. I've said that since the offseason, that the defense will carry the team. Defense is important, and I'm actually not as down on the Jones' moves on the roster as I thought I would be after seeing Rush handle his own with the 1st team offense. That was my least favorite spot as far as personnel. I was thinking he would play like he did in preseason. Then, right before the game, I started tapping into the fun parts of being a fan and told my buddy I was watching the game with that we're going to win this game because the defense and our running game, and Rush would drive the bus.

Sure enough.

A few weeks back, I posted about how Rush lacked talent, and I probably misjudged his capabilities due to underestimating how much of a student of the game he really was, despite not seeing the physical talent. But I read a few scouting reports that talked about how he's one of the most prepared QBs in the draft when he was an UDFA, and that he's somewhat of a student of the game who just lacks elite athleticism.

But that's what I meant. Physical talent. And he looked bad in the preseason. But he held it down with the first team offense. And that game, coupled with the Minnesota game tells me he's got something between the ears that I didn't notice. So I was wrong on him. Lookie there. Happens, which is why you have to be able to rethink your evaluations.

I don't care who plays QB. I just want a bus driver to take the team from point A to B.

All this personal stuff, and agendas, etc. chest thumping, I couldn't care less about. I want to see my team compete this year.

1-1 with the Giants up next. I think the Giants are actually the toughest team in the NFCE. And we're not really the NFC Least this year. More talent in our division than last year, for sure.

Appreciate the compliment.

Wait............So are you saying that you worried too much about our young receivers?

If you're going to act all snide and snarky like you do, at least know what you're talking about.

I've been supportive of all of our WRs...Had a bit of doubt about Brown. But I knew he was doing well enough to get the start, which I wrote about in that thread where you also didn't know what you were talking about. I'm just impressed by Brown after he got the start. I rewatched some of his game tape, and he's coming around very well.

And I've been on board with moving Cooper.

With this team, I'm only worried about how predictable they are, and scheme, and I think Moore did a fantastic job with that tonight.

Yes, #81.

I know his number. Just didn't see him get the holding call. Or must have missed that play.

In the very beginning of the offseason, I kind of felt the same way. Then I warmed up to the idea.

I often change my mind upon gleaning new information and reassessing my position on a player (everyone should do this). Brown is one of the guys who swayed my opinion.

So you werent one of the biggest off season complainers that we didnt do enough with the WR's?
