If you go look at his routes in some of those plays today you can see what the Cowboys like about him. He's a load. But with less weight than last year, he looks a lot more nimble. He's a try-hard, smart player, who obviously works hard. Not great speed, but smart and pretty smooth runner.

I have to say . . . I've always been a bit optimistic about Brown. But most of my hunch about him was doubt, because he's been around for so long.

I'm impressed by how gritty he is. Today, he played well within the system. Did several different things out there that showed he might be more than just the best blocking WR in the league. He's starting to look legit out there.

As someone else pointed out earlier, Noah Brown has more yards so far than Amari Cooper, and as many TDs.

While I'm pointing out how good Noah Brown looked today, it was against a Bengals defense that's not nearly as good as the Bucs.

In fact, the Bucs held the Saints to only 10 points to say, which tells me we may have faced the best defense in the league game 1.

I've questioned Brown's value for years as a "Teeny Tiny Blocking TE", but last year he made the jump to competent WR play, turning him into a real asset. Now he's getting the play time to shine.

Many groaned when we resigned him this year. I just saw a great value contract.

If he continues with Gallup back at least top 3 spots look set. He had a decent game last week too.

Brown's blocking makes him a great asset on run/pass downs. He should continue to get a good chunk of snaps with Gallup back.

So you werent one of the biggest off season complainers that we didnt do enough with the WR's?

Nope.

I liked Tolbert, Fehoko, Washington.. pretty much all of the bottom of our roster guys.

Gallup is my favorite player on the team.

I admit to being a little skeptical about Brown. More like, just didn't expect much from him as a #2 guy or even to contribute on the offense much, simply because of how long he's been with us.

But look at his college film and you can see some things there. When you consider he's really only 26, you can see how maybe he just needed a chance.

It was a risk. But looks to be paying off.

Was that on Simi? I didn't see the first 4 minutes of the 2nd half. So must have been then.

We got away with a few things out there today, to be honest.

That ref crew was the same ref crew that we had in our practices.
1:58 remaining in the 1st Quarter.
It was 3rd and 4 then 3rd and 9.

Noah Brown bailed him out with a big catch to convert.

Ah. Missed that specific call.

Semi helped out out there. Just didn't make any catches.

Its sad they never wanted to use him. 7 years he was used to block. He may not change the world but dang hes more than a blocker.

It's one game folks...as this boards #1 Noah Brown hater, I'll admit that he stepped up. But please, do NOT ever pencil him in as anything but a #4 or #5 on a good WR corp.....which we are not.

Troy Aikman talked about how much he liked him several years ago. We're finally able to see him in action. The funny thing is he's only 26 years old. So he's got something left in the tank.

I swear it feels like he's been here since T.O was a receiver here. I'm glad for him. If he turns out to be a good receiver, Hollywood must make a story movie

He's been my pet cat since he was drafted. The guy works hard, plays all out on special teams and does all the little things that coaches appreciate. He has persevered and I hope it all pays off.

Noah was ok vs the Bucs imho. This week he showed out, so he's the leading WR for the Cowboys now.

Gallup n Brown on the Outside and CeeDee in the Slot. Lamb looks to be more of a slot guy. I don't know where James Washington fits. Also, when the 2 injured WRs return who's getting cut at WR? Tough decisions ahead.

Houston and Fehoko are not ready for steady reps in the NFL. Obvious choice.

For most of those years, I don't think Brown was more than a blocker. Last year he trimmed down and looked like a different player in routes, but wasn't given the snaps or targets to produce much. This year he's getting the targets, and coming through.

Fehoko was open on at least a couple plays with plenty separation. He'll be fine as soon as he builds some chemistry.

Or maybe they cut him. But I think Simi is like Noah. He'll be something someday.
