This is why a few of us liken Dak to Smith. He'll put up pretty end of the year stats if you like just box scores without digging into the circumstances or situations of how the stats came to be, but if you look you'll find that there's usually zero substance to them, and your team will ultimately fail with you under center because you're just not that guy.

Insert real QB in Kansas City and you've not went home before the Conference Championship game since.

I really hate that term. It is so ridiculous.

Dak is not a "Real QB" apparently. A guy who has more tds in one season than any other QB in Cowboys history, isn't a "Real QB".

Who cares? It's a QB league now and they're passing more than ever.

In 1995 (Aikmans time) 3 QBs threw for at least 30 TDs.
In 1977 (Staubachs time) 2 QBs threw for at least 20 TDs. The league leader threw 22 TD passes.
In 2017 (Romo's record year) 4 QBs threw for at least 30 TDs.
In 2021 (Dak's record year***) 9 QBs threw for at least 30 TDs. Two guys threw for over 40 TDs.

If Dak is your Cowboys GOAT QB that's fine, but you need to put things into perspective. This is a perfect example of using stats without giving context. You can fool some people with this, but some of us like to research things.

***5 TD passes against the Eagles practice squad, passing on 1st down inside the 5 yard line a few times, just to get the record is weak sauce.

Not trying to fool anyone. Just stating a fact, I know you guys hate those when they relate to Dak and you immediately have to dismiss it as having *'s

1. Only 3 qbs had more td's than Dak did last year. For a qb who is not a "Real QB" that is pretty good in my opinion.
2. Dak threw 5 td's against the Eagles backups but he threw 3 and a 143 rating the first time he faced the Eagle's first string defense last year. I suggest it would not have made a difference in performance.

The. Game. Has. Changed.

Dak having that record is nothing special because Tony Romo (who is also nothing special) had it before him and he also had it because the game has changed.

Justin Herbert threw 38 TD passes in 15 games his rookie season. That would be a Dallas Cowboys record. The. Game. Has. Changed.

Do you believe Dak is better than Aikman and Staubach because they don't have that record and Dak does?

Although you're right about the Chiefs getting to the SB, but the decisions your coach makes has something to do with it too. The poor coaching choice the Bills made at the end of the playoff game against the Chiefs cost them that game. I believe the Bills beat Cinci and go on to the SB to play the Rams had it not been for that dopey decision. Maybe he was overconfident? Maybe the moment was too big for him? People talk about bad clock management with our HC, his poor clock management cost them a trip to the AFC championship game and possibly the SB.

yeah the coaching makes a big difference. That is why I say it is hard or inaccurate to compare QB's as they are on different teams with different coaches ,players.
Some HC and or OC's are good during the season, but not in the playoffs.
Shanahan at SF has cost his team games in playoffs.
What did the bills coach do in chiefs game?? I only saw that once. I thought each one scored whenever they got the ball, and in ot the chiefs
won the toss and scored.

I dont watch all the KC games, like I do the cowboys, and I suspect most here dont either.
But the games I have seen, Mahomes is the complete pkg.
He can throw good, usually on target, but not perfect. He can avoid most of the pass rush, and extend plays. He usually is a big factor in
running after he cant find a target.
I know in one champ game or the SB, he rolled out left looked, then took off, and ran like 47 yds for a td , when most would have just run out of bounds
or slid. He usually or most of time makes good decisions,makes some good side arm throws to get pass by a lineman.
He pretty much does it all and is pretty consistent at all of that.
Andy reid and his OC are the ones who caused their SB loss to TB, I felt they could have run the ball more and throw other short passes, screens etc.
But TB DC came up with good game plan and KC coaches never countered that.

Never should have been an OT. Bills were kicking off with a 3 point lead and 13 seconds left. Only a fool kicks it through the end zone. That allowed the chiefs to have 2 plays and a FG instead of one play and a FG. Kickoff should have been to around the 10-15 yard line.
