Yeah but he’s not just some athlete…..every guy in the NFL is one of the best athletes on the world. It just takes more than that. Rico Gathers was a elite athlete.
Having the best qb of our generation is probably his best trait.

I do know one thing about Schoon - he runs after the catch exactly like Darryl Johnston did, just a little faster. He has no stiff arm, no hurdle, no jukes or moves WHAT SO EVER after the catch. I saw him, in hi high light film, get tackled numerous times on the 1 yard line when a simple stutter step would have allowed him to score. He does remind me of Jason Witten though - Jason's moves and dexterity his last season.

....last I heard, Trysten Hill was the next Randy WHite ..lol.. Then life happened.

So I can wait on this scenario.

I hope you guys are 100% correct about Schooner and I am incorrect!! I am rooting for him just as I root for all Cowboys.
Schoon is very important to what MM needs to do, and why the concern with the PF, but as I have mentioned before, is manageable with the "legal" pain tolerance level reducers.... :muttley:

Who cares what he laughs at? He is an actor.with a script.
OK....well most reasonable people would laugh at someone projecting him as the next Kelce or calling him a huge bust before he plays an actual game.

Dude has zero wiggle. He’s also not a guy that lowers his shoulder and trucks dudes. The only chance of him being a YAC guy is hitting him in stride on timing routes.

Anything is possible, Kelce was a third round pick, but I would tap the brakes on a comparison to him. Dealing with plantar fasciitis is going to make it difficult for Schoonmaker his rookie year. If there’s one position the Cowboys have had a lot of luck drafting, it’s TEs. They’ve hit on some real good ones that were taken after the first round. Billy Joe Dupree was drafted in the fifth round. Doug Cosby was a third round pick and so was Jason Witten. Dalton Schultz was drafted in the fourth round. We picked up Jay Novacek in Plan B free agency, and he was a former sixth round pick. We’ll see how it plays out with a Schoonmaker.

Certainly wouldn’t trade him for Logan Thomas, Darren Waller, or Dallas Goedert. We’re good.
