While I would have preferred a loss, it was a fun game to watch, in big part because of Overshown. That said, it's hard to be proud of barely beating the worst team in the league.

Nothings gonna change until Jerry sells the team. Doesn’t matter what pick we have. So enjoy the win. 2 straight ones against the division.

Team hasn’t had anything to be proud of all year. I’ll enjoy the ride while it lasts.
I won’t enjoy the win. It’s actually bad for the team.

The way this team is still fighting under Mike McCarthy says a lot about the respect they have for him. I don't like a lot of his playcalls or his clock management, but his team definitely hasn't quit. If the choice is to keep McCarthy or fire him and hire belichick, I'm going with the first option.

I'm not opposed to Mike coming back if we can get someone else to call the plays.
Exactly. Just have a good OC, to call and create the plays. If he's good enough, we can deal with poor clock management.

Winning is never bad for a team. Losing creates a loser culture. You don’t have to take it from me. Listen to former players. Only fans think it’s a good thing to lose week in and week out.

There’s talent on this team. Especially on defense. Last thing I want is a player life Overshown giving up on the season.

Look, I’d love to have the top pick in the draft. But I am happy to enjoy the holidays with my family and watch my team win. There’s plenty of losing to come.

Why? They beat an even crappier team. Yay.

I suspect he's one of those weirdos who simply enjoys winning. He knows as a fan he has zero agency, and can't control even the most minute of team details.

He choses to just enjoy winning, because he knows hating it won't change anything regardless.

I know, it's wild.

Same here, and I will say this. Daboll is a decent OC. He did great stuff with Josh Allen in Buffalo. It could be a nice offense to have McCarthy at HC and Daboll at OC. Plus, unless it's an obvious upgrade, I'd be fine keeping McCarthy. The man can coach, and even Brady was talking about how good of a coach he is. It says a lot about a coach when all seemed lost, he's on the last year of his deal, and he can get his team to buy in and not quit. Even if we can't make the playoffs, I would be very open and for us keeping Mike.

I know it messes up our draft position, and I don't care. I'm proud of how this team has fought the last 3 weeks. They held Houston close until running out of steam. They fought hard and beat Washington, and now we have beaten the Giants. I love the fight. When all seemed lost, this team is back in the race. Even if we don't make it, the team has fought its tail off, and I love that. Even if we don't keep McCarthy, a coach like Vrabel will appreciate the fight.
Would rather see wins than a high draft position. If we’re going to continue winning with Rush the defense has to keep playing well and we need to continue running the ball effectively.

What if winning convinces the GM that we were there if it weren't for a few key injuries?

Well, exactly. Also, in 2013, he lost Aaron Rodgers for an extended period of time, and he had backup QBs helping keep them steady for a playoff run. Obviously, Dak's out for the season, but it shows how good of a coach he is. Winning titles is obviously the goal. It says a lot about a coach who faces adversity and knows how to coach his way through it.

Yes, and, as much crap as Mike gets, especially on here, he's one heck of a coach to have had the amount of adversity he has this season and kept the team believing to where the playoffs are not a far-fetched idea. I would have no problem with Jerry giving him a 3-4 year deal. I think Mike has earned it for the job he's done the last few weeks.

Win meant nothing…only short-sighted fans see a benefit in this.

With every meaningless win we get closer to mid round draft position, additional year(s) with McCarthy, and Jerry deluding himself into thinking that injuries caused a championship caliber roster to falter.

Not that it matters. Dak will be our QB next season and Jerry will be our GM. Failure is inevitable.

It's not about the wins for me (though, those are fun). It's about the fact that Mike, despite all the adversity, has the team believing. I remember in 2015 when we lost Romo for the season, and we collapsed to a 4-12 record. This is twice where we have been playing with a backup QB and actually look competitive where the playoffs are not far-fetched. Not saying we will get there, but I love the culture that is being built, compared to the Garrett years. This team fights, and I love that. They aren't championship caliber. But they have a lot of fight. I hope that either Mike or Vrabel can keep that going.

That's right, winning titles is the goal. There's no way that happens this year, so the more games they win this year, the lower the draft picks next year, meaning the cycle probably keeps going.

True, but I think the culture of keeping the fight going speaks volume. Doesn't mean we have to win. I just don't want us falling apart like we did in 2015. To Mike's credit, this team fights. I respect and appreciate that.
