This was par for the course. Once again Romo has to save Garretts butt. Garrett basically has 3 major tasks as coach of this team:

1. Pat fannies and cheer lead. (Incredible job yesterday with this. One of his best days patting fannies and clapping)
2. Throw the red flag. (Garrett had already screwed this up big time half way through the first quarter)
3. Get the team motivated to play. (Talk about coming out flat and not in the mindset to play)

A horribly undermanned team came into Dallas yesterday and should have gotten blown out. Clearly Dallas wasnt ready to play. Of course it was Romo again saving the day for Garrett as he did many times since he took over as head coach.

I take it you're not a Garrett fan.

Roy, I like you. Don't get me wrong. But you must be a flippin riot at parties. -smh

Sorry my man, I was not impressed by the cowboys last night. And before you jump for joy about it, remember that we lost Dez and Gregory for 4-6 weeks. Which will come back to haunt us. Without Gregory and Hardy our pass rush is back to last year. And without Dez they will stack the line even more and make us more one dimensional. Get used to dink and dunk for a while.

Couldn't have said it better myself. If you're not optimistic about this team, then what's the point!? No Debbie Downer in you my friend. We'll take it one week at a time. I'm gonna root for this team through thick and thin. I will never succumb to fraudulent fandom. Life is short. Root hard.

Being a blind gleeful football fan doesnt make you a great fan my friend. There should be some concerns for you after the game last night and there is no harm in fans talking about them. This is not a fan club, but a discussion forum. :)

Dez and Gregory going down doesnt concern you?

The main problem was the turnovers. But this team came out flat and their heads were clearly not in the game. AS the turnovers indicated. It was a pathetic win and once again Romo saved the Cowboys from utter disgrace with another miraculous comeback...

Redonkulous. Really. Not really interested in debating it very much since the idea of the HC being responsible for 'having their heads in the game' could not possibly be a factor in any of the three turnovers we both apparently agree were the actual problem, but give me a pathetic win each of the next 15-18 games and I'll be pretty happy.

I'm on board with you on that. I'm well aware of the loss. It's not going to be easy. But when the going gets tough the tough get going. We will have to find our way. I refuse to give up or have a negative attitude. There's no time for that. If anything, it's time to be more optimistic. Positive attitudes bring positive results. This is the time to bond. This is the time to tell ourselves we will not be defeated. With or without. These are our Dallas Cowboys.

Hey, a Dallas team that somehow plays well without Dez, Greggory, R. McClain, and Hardy is going to look pretty good after the bye as those players start working back into the lineup, right?

Actually, I thought about my answer a little longer and there is really no way to blame Garrett for anything more than blowing the red flag throwing stuff. He doesn't do much else. Its only fair that if Im not giving Garrett credit for winning, then I cant blame him for the losing. :muttley:

I dont think of it as negative, just realistic. The chips are already down at this point, so that have to suck it up and overcome. I would feel more confident if I knew we could pound the rock like last year. AGAIN......thats going to be more difficult now with Dez out. They dont have to double cover anyone now. Going into Philly is a scary proposition at this point. And you can bet they will be looking to take out Romo in every way possible.

And without a pass rush, we could get run out of town.

That was about as pathetic a win as you could possibly hope for. Not to mention two of our most important players are out now for 4-6 weeks.

You can gloss over whatever you want and buy into Garretts fanny patting speaches, but any real coach would have been hammering the team for that effort.

And coaching had nothing, absolutely nothing to do with the injuries. People that know and truly understand the game realize that there are many different methods of real coaching. They also understand that even the best teams face adversity. Such as turning over the ball multiple times. Coaching didn't cause Beasly to fumble. Coaching didn't cause the fumble by Street. Though a good hit had a lot to do with it. But I bet there's a lot of coaching on ball protection this week.
Rarely does a team turn the ball over 3 times yet still go on to win. The well coached teams do. I didn't hear any fanny patting speeches so I'm not sure what it is you think I'm buying in to. I have no idea what Garrett will be doing behind closed doors. I'd imagine he's chewing fannies for the mistakes they made. And I'd imagine he's congratulating those who deserve it for their good plays. IMO. That's what good leaders and real coaches do. And judging by most of the comments I've heard from the players. That's the kind of leadership they respond to.

Not if they are 2-3 or 1-4 they wont. 3-2? Now that would be nice.

Romo was the leader last night like he has always been. How about we wave a couple pom poms for Romo eh!!!!

Of course it does. But winning teams find a way to overcome. There's no room for getting down in the dumps over the loss of a player or players. You coach to win. You play to win. You face adversity and find a way. Say what you will Brother, but your words will not get me down. And I promise you, they will not bring the Dallas Cowboys down. We'll adjust. Respect, my friend.

As you were bashing Garrett for hypothetically screwing up that last drive, you said...

My point was that other than Romo and possibly Witten, no one played a bigger role in last night's win than Lance Dunbar.

Very good point VA... Surprised a lot of folks.

I'm never deleting this game. Our last defensive stand was one for the ages. The goal line stand. Tough isn't even the word. It was epic. There is no quit in this team.
