15-20 years ago, NOONE CARED about preseason games.

Now-EVERYONE is getting TOO passionate about them-this is beyond sickening, if you ask me.

The innerweb allows everyone to voice there opinions more. It's the same ol, same ol' as far as I'm concerned.

PR/KR/WR would not be of any concern today had we taken Santonio Holmes last year over Bobby Carpenter.

True and by definition, webboards are negative. When we win against the Giants, there will be maybe 200 posts but if we lose, there will be 2000.

Funny you mention it-last year in the 2nd Giants game(the week before the Saints game, that is), Tom Coughlin and his coaching staff were doing EXACTLY the same thing Payton did(i.e. keeping Romo in the pocket, running screens to the flat to Barber/Jacobs, etc)-but, en yet, while NOONE pointed this out(come to think of it, everyone here said how GREAT we were, this despite giving up 400+ yards to the Nats), everyone, to this day, keeps saying how "Sean Payton knew our playbook back and forth, and it gave our future opponents a blueprint how to beat us, yada, yada, yada".

Yah-it seems like when you win, noone cares what you did wrong. We'll always spin and spin how we did *great* in areas we really didn't do well in. But when we lose, all of a sudden, our weaknesses just get pointed out that we SHOULD have discussed in previous weeks.

Those are just our numbers. Obviously, you're not factoring in the 300 posts from Giants fans saying that we were lucky; the 500 posts from Eagles fans saying that they're better than the Giants anyway; and the 1000 posts from Commanders fans saying, well, we simply suck. See? 2000. Same number.

I think the problem we're all struggling with here is, we expect teams to stay sorry forever. We thought we were going to roll into Texans country, and just casually beat-them-down and float out of town with cigars in our mouths.

No team and I mean NO TEAM, should be taken lightly. These guys have sucked for years, meaning they've been drafting pretty high for years and at some point, if you have a competent coach, that talent will rise to the top.

From my estimation, if you take the double illegal block "punt return" out of the mix, starters VS starters (and yeah they still had their defensive starters in when Romo connected with Witten in the 3rd quarter) the game was around 13 to 14.

I'd say that was a bad game, but winnable. Once the 2nd stringers were in, then all bets are off. Let's say we did count the punt return (since it did happen) we were making a come-back from what I saw, and for those who think that all wins should be blow outs by 24 points, go back and look at the great 70's, early 80's teams where Roger Stauback and even Danny White had to make come backs in games all the time.

That coach they have over there coached for Denver and was a pretty good play caller for their offense. Our run-defense was not HORRIBLE, but it was not good. Not like we gave up 200 yards on the ground, but we are used to Parcells type ball where we didn't give up much on the ground. But when you're slanting and shooting for the QB on nearly every play, some teams will exploit that.

How will we play with Glenn at WR? How about Terence Newman at corner and perhaps Ellis at OLB? What about with Fasano at the other TE spot? Guys will be injured "yes", but when we're fully staffed, we're pretty good. For those who criticize Romo' performance, you better thank Romo for some nifty moves in the pocket, cause our starter could'a gotten killed back there "several times", and magically, Romo escapes.

With all the defensive coaching experience Wade has, i'm pretty sure he'll get that run-defense fixed fairly soon, but until then..

Relax guys, the sky isn't falling yet.
