Tell you what: You name me one other defense in the NFL that had up to 5 rookies on the field at one time, I'll hop on the ditch Zimmer bandwagon and not look back.

And just so yuo don't waste your whole evening desperately trying to prove a point, let me help you arent: There arent any others

And Payton never had a #1 offense, or even a top 10 offense. Zimmer conssitantly has good defenses, even when Campo was here.

You think maybe just maybe that Zimmer made a bad playcall ? You think maybe just maybe The Dallas blitz has sucked for years cause Zimmer cant coah it ? You think im biased against zimmer but you are biased for him. You are willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, AGAIN. I am not. He Sucks.

You think maybe, just maybe, the late game breakdowns were because we had 5 rookies conrtributing/starting on defense? Of course you didnt, because that would require objective thinking, something this board seems to lack these days

And Campo never had the #1 defense, never even close

I don' think you grasp this:

Aggresive doesnt win games, not giving up 400 yards and 30 PPG does

Maybe you don't recall how much we blitzed in 2003 and why our defense was ranked #1, but it did have it punishment for being aggressive now didn't it? How about the Patriots & Panther playoff game? Burned, because we were too aggressive.

Unfortunately Dallas couldn't bring pressure with 4 lineman. Outside of Glover and Ellis we had no pass rush. The reason we blitzed so much is because we had to.

Understood and this year, we didn't have to. Hence a perceived less aggressive defense.

Actually, Payton and Zimmer are pretty similar. Both are good coaches, well thought of around the league, who get bashed here unfairly.

Sean Payton was the most unimaginitive, predictable, vanilla offensive coordinator in our franchise's history. Our offensive has never been and would have never been anything special with his playcalling.

Payton is just so predictable and has so little imagination that he was the 1st OC in a long time to have a QB for this team throw more TD passes then INTs. And also have ove 20 TD passes. In spite of one of the worse OLs in the NFL.

Yeah he is so unimaginative he actually got hired as a HC.

Oh and no need to worry about Payton takin Zimmer. Nobody would be that stupid except the Dallas Cowboys.

I guess the reason Zimmer has not been hired is cuz he is so great he scares off other teams from hirin him. His system is such genius that NFL owners think that no NFL player could understand it and that they would need aliens from outter space to play for him since they would be the only ones smart nuff to play under they guy you think is the greatest DC the NFL has ever seen.

Keep makin the Zimmer excuses. They are good for alota laughs.

Alota people in here also think Zimmer sucks.

Hey I got a great idea. Maybe you should call up the Saints and tell them what a big mistake they made in makin Payton their HC instead of Zimmer.:lmao2: :lmao2: :lmao2: :lmao2: :lmao2: :lmao2: :lmao2:

Over the last 3 years, Mike Zimmer's defense has averaged #10 in the NFL, and that's with a year of almost no defensive talent and a year in a completely new scheme. His #1 defense is the ONLY reason, the ONLY reason why we made the playoffs in 2003. They were the ONLY reason we had a chance to make the playoffs this year. I don't give a damn as to how many turnovers we force, or how many sacks we get, I care about how many yards we give up and how many points the other team scores. Is he an aggressive DC? No. Does he get the job done? The stats don't lie.

Het Payton..."take Zimmer with you"!! :laugh2::lmao2::laugh1:

Yes, it's Payton's fault he didn't call the "magical" plays that would of made our OL block better.

Again...

I have yet to see facts or stats anywhere in this thread used to bash Payton or Zimmer

BRILLIANT!

I think Payton was a really good OC. As far as Zimmer is concerned he always registers on the league bottom for interception or sacks. He doesn't give up alot of points or yards either though.

true, but look at what he's had to deal with in his tenure here as DC

little talent for years

then with talent, 1st year in a totally foreign scheme, that not only he has to learn, but his whole charges, and even with that circumstance, our D managed to increase their sack and turnover total, esp. INTs

Zimmer gets all my respect because he adjusts very well:

no talent on the front 4 in '03, so he employs a blitzing scheme that worked really well until it was figured out, and then obviously having to adapt from being a 4-3 coordinator, to a 3-4 coordinator, and the D improves from the '04 version and has a top-10 finish, so all the criticsm heaped on him is unfair and illogical IMO, and those who criticize him heavily prove my point

But you have to agree, he is very conservative. All the things you said are true, but he still ranks in the league bottom in both sacks and ints. We are improved though.

actually Parcells said that by nature, Zimmer is very aggressive, that he, asks him to tone it down

and for good reason, before, it was a horrible secondary, and this year, unfamilarity of the 3-4

I hope your right. We definitely need a FA OLBer who can rush the passer and FS though to make this defense work.
