I have no problem posting about that. Get this. I dont think it was a bad call.

I have analyzed that play frame by frame from the HD broadcast and it appears he was a tick to soon. Just bad luck. Oh and babe laufenberg agrees with me.

Now the call on romo and leonard davis were bad calls. But they didnt cost us the game. Poor execution, untimely mistakes and a team who started to believe they actually accomplished something after beating the packers...that was the problem.

blaming it on the refs makes you look like an extremely poor sport and a guy who doesnt understand what he is watching too well. It sucks for all of us, that was a heartbreaker and a tough way to finish a season, but you have to accept the truth.
Bullcrap! i said when i started this thread that yes im a F------- poor loser. i do not apologize for that. but i could care less what you or Babe thinks. Ware was not offsides.PERIOD! even the NFL cheaters Admitted that. take your Giant blinders off.

lol Giant blinders?

Sorry, I dont think the refs cost us the game. Our players cost us that game. Its tough to swallow but it is true. Hopefully that empty feeling we have, the players have 10x worse and will remember it every single snap this season.

You should care what laufenberg thinks, he is the smartest cowboy evaluator not actually employed at valley ranch.

He was also the WORST QB in the HISTORY of the NFL-if lucky, he was a 50% passer, on the SIDELINES, that is.

But I agree with you on his analysis-he's a very smart guy, and a far better broadcaster than he was a player.

I dont give a crap how smart he is. if he said Ware was offsides, he a dummy. it's clear he was not offsides. none of your spin will change that.again, even the NFL front office admits that. Nice try.

His nfl career has nothing to do with his job now and what would it have to do with his understanding and knowledge of the game. The guy knows everything. He sees the game differently then 99% of the media. He is better than aikman at the same job, much better but obviously aikman was umm much better as a player. The two have nothing to do with each other.

He has a handle on the team like no other media member. He just helped out the Garret family with their annual summer football camp in new jersey.

He knows his stuff and he knows our coaches and what they are trying to do at all times. He is a joy to listen to.

God you are driving me crazy. Losers find excuses, winners get results. There's people on here who could tell you about Jerry Kramer's false start in the Ice Bowl and Benny Barnes phatom interference against Pittsburgh in the Super Bowl and Deion's interference on Irvin in San Fran that wasn't called that all cost us possible Super Bowls but this crybaby attitude is brutal.

And don't feed us this "I'm a sore loser which makes me a great competitor...it makes you look like a loser. There's nobody on this board who didn't yell and scream at the refs and at the outcome but the Giant's should have never been in the position to win.

Score More Freaking Points!!!

I agree with Leeblair on a couple of these issues, but I also agree with the main post, the refs were horrible. However, most of you guys are overlooking the main thing about the refs. Who do we have to blame about the refs, Commissioner Goodell.

If you guys remember, Goodell first time in the NFL on playoffs, Goodell didnt let the best refs with their crews officiate, like generally in the past, this time Goodell had a main ref work with another crew ref staff that the head ref had never worked with. Then, on top of that, Goodell picked the head ref that generally was for the home team, but the crew refs were totally against home teams.

That to me, speaks volumes there.

Next, we have to thank the Commissioner for allowing first time in the NFl for assistant coaches to be allowed to visit and be looked at opposing teams that were looking for head coaches. Before in the past, teams that were in the playoffs, losing teams could not contact any assistant coaches on playoff teams till they were out of the playoffs. If you guys remeber, Sparano visited the Dolphins, and Garrett best I remember visited Baltimore and Atlanta I think. To my mind, no team should be alowed to talk to assistant coaches while that team is still in the playoffs, it breaks continiuty and rhythm.

We were not the better team when we played the Giants in the playoffs. I still think talent wise we were better, but not heart wise, and passion wise.

Sure, we were more talented, but being better includes the whole picture- discipline, coordination, intensity, and planning- on top of having talent.
I agree we didnt have discipline, intensity and planning, how can you plan like your suppose to game planning when your assistant coaches are being interviewed for head coaching jobs? Thats not right!!!!!!!

They were better that day in every category but talent. Way better.
Yes, we had more talent, but not heart, passion, desire.

That's on the coaching staff.
Again, how can you blame the coaching staff to a point, when they are allowed to be interviewed for head coaching jobs, and when wade phillps lets the players get off for the bye week. That i blame on Wade Phillips, I still think like some buffalo fans said, when it gets down to the nitty grity, wade phillips is off with his wife and not coaching like he should. Sure, family in football is important, but only to a degree, the head coach has to step up and put his foot down and have players ready to play and in shape.

But, you have got to hand it to the Giants. They beat the New England Patriots, and didn't cave in during the late parts of the game when New England always seemed to pull away somehow.

The Giants earned their world championship; they wanted it more than the Cowboys did- plain and simple.
I agree with that, i think that is part of the problem, we dont have the real leaders that really want to win, be champions, pay the price, when you leader the Quarterback goes off and spends time in Mexico when he should have been in Dallas, looking at game film, keeping the offensve players alert, etc, then that sets a bad example for the whole team. Then when one of your leaders on defense Terrance Newman says we werent really ready to play, we took the game for granted, that speaks volumes, again some so called leaders on this team, dont really understand what it is to be a leader and really really want to win a super bowl.

The real question is, will Phillips and Garret work to correct their own shortcomings that led to the collapse last year?

AGain, when the NFL sets a new precendent to allow assistant coaches to be allowed to be interviewed for head coaching jobs, along with the Commissioner Goodells approval, then something is wrong. We all saw how the offensive line played terribly in the 2nd half, and we all heard how Nate Newton said the offenisve linemen were arrogant, puffed up, and not in shape, football shape since the detroit game, that you could look at their faces when they lost a game, and not see no pain, no anguish, no hurt, then that is the problem. The heart of the team, intensity, and really wanting to win. But it seems like the players, were content with their pro bowl honors, and a couple players were content to go to Mexico and party, not getting ready for that big game, that to me is why Wade Phillips teams lose in the playoffs, he doesnt prepare them correctly and make them work and stay in shape. Mind I remind you, in December, Wade Philiips didnt have the Cowboys prepare in pads at all in December. Now that isnt football and staying in shape. That I put on the refs that Goodell allowed, Wade Phillips and some of the players on the Dallas Cowboys team that doesnt have heart and desire and intensity
.

Just a few wrinkles in response to the above poster:

1. You obviously missed the Parcells years-say all you want how laid back Wade is, and doesn't respond well when it gets nitty gritty, but in case you missed it, Parcells was FAR from laid back. But, en yet, he somehow poorly prepared the team in the stretch where it counted the MOST as well. And to boot, the players were just in poor of a shape during this time just as much as with Wade.

2. It's RARE for coaches to practice their teams in pads in Dec. They really only do this once, maybe twice a year, but considering the injury factors, they stray away from doing this in Dec.

3. Less not forget how Parcells ALLOWED Romo to bring Carrie Underwood onto the FIELD prior to kickoff of that xmas Eagles game. Funny how Parcells got a PASS for this-just imagine the uproar over Wade if he allowed this.

So what's the point? I'm starting to question the MENTALITY of these players on this team. Sure-you need a very good coach, but ultimately, it's the PLAYERS that have to RESPOND to the coach. In recent years-2 coaches with style of plays that contrast quite a bit-but the same result.

Otherwise-I agree with all of your points in your post. But just sayin...

Edit: This is a response to cowboyjoe's #70's post.

I for one am not over it. I hate seeing Eli's face if it's not smotherd in dirt after being sacked and I hate the fact that T.O. cried like a little girl afterwards. I hate that Patrick Crayton can talk soooo much sh** and not back up a ounce of it and I hate the face that Brandon Jacobs,Antonio Pierce and Plaxico has been taking shots at us and having laughs on our account. I will never get over this loss because we could have beaten then 6 times last year but everyone will always remember this one

We lost because we choked when faced with pressure.

The Giants rose to the occasion and made big plays when needed.

Our players disappeared when we needed them.

Simple. As. That.

vintage i agree with some of that, but moreso, some of these players like newman, james, crayton, romo, dont know what its like to lose, be on a bad team, and be humilated by other pro teams,

in other words, heart, desire, swagger, intensity, humility, and a true team leader, thats what some of these players lack, and to a degree i think the head coach wade phillips lacks it,

The Giants beat us. Get over it. They made fewer mistakes, played harder, and outplayed us that day. The Cowboys didn't take it up a notch in the playoffs; the Giants did.

I watched the game I saw no cheating or the refs giving any favors to either team. God what gets old is whinny fans who when their team loses has to find reasons other than the fact we did not play good enough to win. Cowboys had some chances in the game and we failed to capitalize on them

some of you guys act like it doesn't even phase you that we loss to division rivals after beating them twice. I'm not saying make up stuff about the refs cheating or whatever but show some anger don't just sit there like "yeah we lost but we'll get them next year" some of you guys are so ok with losing it's scary. If it was a loss to any other team that wasn't in the nfc east then i wouldn't be so angry but it was the dirty giants that beat us...you can't just simply "get over it" can you?
