I wanted Zeke all the way ....... but I thought Dak was a wasted pick ...... talk about feeling like an idiot.

Same here! My brother and brother in law (Browns and Dolphins fan) texted me after we drafted Dak and I told them I hated the pick etc. I'll gladly eat crow now :D

What can I say? I'm an idiot.

Go Cowboys!

Just look at it this way- We got who we got, simple as that! And that's what was meant for us to get.

AGain we are the only team with a thousand yard rusher for 3 consecutive years since our offensive line was put together. And two of those 3 years when we had competent QB play we had 1500+ yard rushers. And a year where we had some of the worst QB play we've seen in a decade we had a thousand yard rusher who didn't start a game until Halloween. HALLOWEEN.

And of these past 3 years only one of those years did we spend a fortune at the RB position.

Now if you want to talk about people gameplaning for just Zeke and not something they did for Murray or for our running game in general last year then you're either not paying attention or willfully ignoring the facts. Because we couldn't throw last year teams crowded the line of scrimmage against us with no fear of a deep ball. And we still ran effectively. Again that is with abhorrent QB play.

I know it's convenient to put this season's turnaround on Zeke...but in reality from a statistical perspective Zeke was not much better than Dmac was last year. And Dmac didn't have a healthy Dez or competent QB play.

This turnaround is about going from some of the worst QB play in the league to a guy from a efficiency perspective matched Romo (i.e. some of the best QB play in the league).

Those are the facts.
Good God this post could be shredded.....I'll leave it at 3 consecutive years with a RB at 1500 yds got this team what?

Your stats include yards in between the 20's which amounts to jack. Who cares.

13-3 is what Zeke an Dak have brought to Dallas. What did those other 1500 yarders do? Hint....One of them fumbled. Zeke doesn't. There's a stat for ya.

You completely miss the nuances of football at every turn.

Nobody in this thread has placed this teams turn-around on Zeke.....You did that, blinded by your agenda.

For goodness sakes, EE had 932 yards after contact...AFTER CONTACT.. And that was after 14 games. Noone comes close to that. He's always going forward and he runs with an attitude that is out of this world, much like ES and "his sweetness"..

I wanted Ramsey to be honest. I liked the idea of strengthening that secondary and having Ramsey at corner.

Its been a incredible run.

One thing I knew was I didn't want a QB in this draft. I was ok with drafting Dak in the 2nd round(little did I know no one would touch him until the 4th). I actually was for drafting Dak in the 2nd as opposed to trading up for Wentz or Goff. I didn't like Wentz's throwing motion or the fact that he played weak competition. I never questioned would Wentz make it or not I just didn't think his resume warranted trading all of that for him. Goff had Alex Smith written all over him.

I always wanted Dak in the later rounds but goodness I thought his ceiling was that of a game manager at best if he sat down for a few years. Had no idea he was NFL ready........

Are you seriously still going on with this crap man? Just stop

People just will never get it. Zeke is a special back. Jordan Howard is a very good back. But as McFadden proved last year, just because you can run the football doesn't mean it will result in wins. What Zeke does for this team is special on and off of the field and in that locker room. He's a leader of this team. He's a rookie and he's already a leader of this team and as he goes this team goes. Jordan Howard isn't Zeke and neither is anyone else. Leveon Bell and David Johnson can also play the slot. Great. They don't have Zeke's breakaway speed. People really took that for granted. I don't think people realize how long its been since we've had a guy who could just take one long.

I wanted Zeke....after we didnt get Lamar Miller in free agency.

Just curious how do you feel about that move now? You still go for Lamar? I think most would take Zeke the talent but I think many felt you get Lamar you could use that 1st rounder to address other needs.

Taking Zeke was easier to swallow in that 1st when you realized he was the best player available there. We didn't need a lineman, Bosa was taken.......you needed a pass rusher. Someone to help the defense out. In the end, Zeke was the best pick for both the offense and defense.

That kind of football isn't allowed because it helps teams win games.

It's all about comparison to other backs which is ludicrous.

It's like me painting the Sistine Chapel red and what the other guy did....

I wanted Zeke. I didn't want Bosa or Ramsey or Wentz. I knew he was going to be a beast. However, I didn't know he was going to be a beast this soon.

Somebody mentioned EE's durability...I think most don't know that he played the entire 2014 season with a broken left wrist, and still dominated the competition in that magical season. If anything I think you can easily give that guy the ball 350 times a year and it wouldn't affect him at all. He's just that resilient...He's like a punching bag, the more you give it to him the better he gets.
