I know that doesn't help you, though.

a typical day would be 3 or 4 eggs in the afternoon and for dinner, which would be hamburgers, hotdogs, pasta or pizza
I think both is probably right

I haven't had a dessert in 20 years. I don't eat any breakfast or lunch at all besides a V-8 around mid morning, and I carry around some pretzels or jerky in my truck to snack on. WHEN I eat dinner (maybe 3-4 times a week), it's heavy on the salad and a small piece of whatever I made for the family. Any other time I get hungry besides all this, and I drink water........

No breakfast, no lunch and only 3-4 dinners a week? Basically you are living off of V8 and snacks.
I'm sorry but count me the hell out. Being rail skinny doesn't mean that much to me. I've got more of a gut than I would like but I also rarely exercise and eat pretty much every damn thing I want.

Everyone's metabolism differs. There is no "one diet" or exercise regime that works for everyone. That's why the diet industry and the work-out industry are two of the best selling things out there. It's interesting..............two of the biggest selling books out there, year after year after year, are recipe books and diet books!!!
I'm not skinny, and have no interest in being skinny. I'm 5'9" and around 180-185 any given week. I can't (or won't) work out as I used to. Some folks can eat and eat and eat and not gain a pound. Other folks can't get away with anything close. Did you ever notice the spike in "weight loss" stuff after the Holiday Season? THAT'S for those of us who can't get away with it. My wife, on the other hand, had three kids and can eat whatever she wants and CAN'T gain a pound!!
Not eating doesn't bother me. Maybe it goes back to the wrestling and boxing days of having to make weight all the time. I know that I'm the odd-ball about diet, and it drives my wife crazy. But I can literally take my family out to dinner and watch my wife eat prime rib or lobster, and sit there with just a cranberry juice for the next hour.
And it's not about being skinny or vanity. I had four people, three friends and one relative, all around my age, die in the last five years due to heart trouble. They were all overweight and ate whatever they wanted whenever they wanted. So maybe I'm a little freaked out too. I also smoke, and have no intentions of quitting......................
We're all different and can only apply what works for us. No one person is in any position to direct how another approaches his/her eating habits or exercise thing. You just gotta' find your own way with regard to this matter.

During the Civil War era in America, military officer's uniforms were padded in the front to slightly exaggerate the waistline.
