I'll tell you what, get The Perfect Pushup. That will burn some fat. It works out every major group in your upper body. I've gotten to where I can do 50 in a row. It's the only exercise I do.

Honestly if you just cut calories and walk you can lose weight.

When it comes to diets it is ALL about the eating. You have to be very good on your diet.

Exercise just helps speed up the weight loss process.

But people get on diets, start "rewarding" themselves to much, then next thing they know they are off their diets.

If anyone wants me to post my diet plan ill start a thread about it. It works everytime.

That's cool. I might have to try out some organic stuff then. I'm not a big veggie person either, but I'm not afraid to try.

I absolutely love peppers....have you noticed a big difference in organic peppers?

I don't use peppers all that much, aside from chopping up bell peppers and throwing them in a pot of tomato sauce.

The hot, hot ones... well, my stomach doesn't do too well with them. I just use hot sauce when I want that bite. :)

Try an elliptical for 30 minutes a day. No wear and tear on your knees.

Excellent point.

I cannot go on a treadmill for that reason.

When I use elliptical I have zero issues with knee... on a treadmill my knee clicks and gives out next day.

FWIW, if you're going to use an elliptical, you need to really crank up the resistance to get any real results. It's a pretty inefficient way of burning calories IMO.

I know a lot of people who use those things...and they aren't doing squat. They just get them going and let momentum do all of the work for them.

IMO, unless your knees are really bad, the best thing to do is to invest in a high quality pair of running shoes and start running.

You have to be motivated to get results on pretty much anything. Half arsing anything will lead you to less than stellar results. I had a herniated disk issue a few years ago and was sidelined for almost a year from physical activity. When I was better, I gave up running (and golf) to preserve the wear and tear it caused on my body. I use the Elliptical three times a week for thirty minutes and have less than 10% body fat. It works if you are motivated. If you aren't, well, nothing will work anyways.

my knees luckily are fine. my right ankle however is knackered. took a kick on it when i was about 19 playing football (soccer) and messed up the ligaments and couldn't walk for a week. couple of years later again playing football i went to turn sharply and it gave way. was swollen and black for about a fortnight and it has never fully recovered. i now have to wear an ankle support when i play my weekly game of seven a sides

thats typical after saying last week my knees are fine.
last night i was playing seven a side and had the ball at my feet under pressure when i saw a small gap between two opposition players. i knocked the ball between them and tried to dart through after it but as i got by the first he pushed me in the back and the second went for the ball but ended up connecting with my knee on my way down. wasn't to bad while i was still playing (which allowed me to get retribution in the form of a slide tackle where i got the ball but made sure i got plenty of the guy who had pushed me as well) but after the match had finished it was starting to stiffen up. when i woke up its swollen and painful, i doubt its anything serious but i've had to take a load of painkillers to get into my work today and its just typical that it happens a week after i was saying how i've never had any problems with my knees

I don't think you're eating often enough and you're probably eating really bad portion sizes along with eating bad foods.

Eating Hamburgers, hotdogs, and pizza every day are going to ruin your workouts. You can workout and run all you want but if you keep eating like that you're going to find that you can't really burn enough to keep it off.

To keep yourself in the best shape you can is to follow a much cleaner diet and to eat 6 smaller meals throughout the day. Don't eat anything around 3 hours before bedtime (Meaning if you go to bed at 11 pm don't eat after 8, etc), and you should eat those 6 smaller meals in intervals of one every 2-3 hours. It helps keep your body from believing it's hungry, or starving, and keeps your body burning the way it should.

That's just off the top of my head. I know that eating 6 meals a day, watching my calories and getting the right amount of protien and carbs in each day has helped me lose 33 pounds and 13 percent of my body fat in 75 days. I'll have an update on those numbers saturday which will be 90 days for me.

Eating properly is the most important part of your workouts, quite honestly, because if you're not eating properly it really doesn't matter how much you work out you're going to slowly, but surely, gain more fat in your stomach area.

It's a relatively intensive workout. The product itself consists of 12 dvds. All you need is a pull up bar, free weights or resistance bands, and a little bit of space.

Even the weight training aspects will get your heart rate up.

...and I'll tell you one thing...I'll never make fun of people that do Yoga again. The Yoga dvd for p90x is a ball buster.

Couldn't agree more. Amazing program, extremely well put together, and Yoga is an absolute killer.

...and I highly recommend p90x.

I've lost 10lbs. Significantly reduced my body fat %. Increased my pushup max to about 65 (100 is my goal) from a paltry 35...I was shocked how much this hurt my shoulders when I started...I used to do hundreds a day when I was younger.

Increased my pull up max to 16-17 (30 is my goal).

Significantly increased my flexibility, and likely my vertical as well.

I've been doing it off and on for about six months, the last month has been pretty regular....and I don't do it 6 days a week like they suggest. If someone had the time and determination to follow the program closely, they'd definitely get into INCREDIBLE shape. For most people, it'd be the best shape of their lives.

It's a total body workout, and I feel great. Very well thought out.

Yep. I agree because I know for a fact from personal experience that it does get great results. I've just about finished my first 90 days with it (Saturday is day 90) and I've seen great results in every aspect you could possibly get from working out.

Congrats on actually sticking out the whole 90 days. That's very impressive. It sounds as if you've adhered to the dietary suggestions as well....even more impressive. I've been pretty active with it the last month and a half, but I'm going to have a hard time keeping it up for a while. I'm in the middle of a move, and I'll be staying at a friends house for an unforeseen amount of time. I'll take my weights and pull up bar with me, but I'll have minimal room for things like the plyometric workout....which was one of my favorites.

I'm going to have to concentrate on the things that I haven't been very good at to this point....Yoga...I still haven't gotten through the whole 1.5 hours. I never would have imagined, but Yoga is the hardest thing in the system...at least for me. My diet...I've been better at eating more often, and in smaller portions, but my choices (while slightly better than before) still leave a lot to be desired.

I've seen some pretty good results while doing it half *****. I can imagine yours have been remarkable. When I get settled again, I'm going to start over from scratch....and will be strictly adhering to the program. I should have a leg up, and I can't wait to see the results.

Plyo is by far my favorite workout. I love it.

And thank you the eating properly thing is by far the hardest thing to get yourself doing and adhering to but if you can get that done you'll have a huge advantage over anyone who doesnt.

keep watching replays of the Cowboys-Eagles game from last December. You'll puke that gut up in no time.
