I think he would be a good fit as well.

Heck, it's definitely going to be a position of need too if R Williams is cut.

I'd rather they find a cheap safety in free agency, and take a DL or OL if there's any value at that point.

I like him too, but I don't think he quite fits the mold of the way the safety position is going in the NFL. He is a Roy Williams type safety, but more and more every season, the safety is forced to play more coverages.

I think I would look more into drafting Sean Smith to play safety.

What's it going to be then, eh?

What cheap safety? If we do that, we will be right back next year, complaining about the problem. Fix it. Save the band aids.

Chung would be good enough as I think his value would be right about where we pick. Delmas is as good as gone. Johnson as well. He's got nice speed, is underrated in coverage and is a very good special teams player.

I would rather have Delmas from W. Michigan. Smith is going to be gone by the time we pick.

I think Smith is the only one that goes in the first round. you have to be real exceptional in order to do that. Phillips lasted all the way to the last pick of round 1 last year for the Giants. We should have a shot to get Delmas or Johnson in round 2, but we will probably need to trade up with one of those additional picks to do it. It would be well worth it though. And yeah.....lets NOT go the cheap route...that hasn't done so well in the past. Time to finally fix this problem once and for all....well at least for the next 6-8 years...

Well it seems we have went the cheap route and the expensive route with similar conclusions.

Maybe we find a way to go the right route (whether it be cheap, expensive or just the right price) and picking a good player that pans out for us.

Easier said than done I know but I just wanted to point out that just going cheap was not the only thing we have missed on.

If Chung in on the board at our pick I would be more than happy to take him.

I think we could do a lot worse.

I mean, he's a solid player, it's a need position for us, and he could probably start from Day 1 (assuming RW is cut).

That's exactly what the Draft is for.

ehhhh..Chung? All I've been hearing how much of a in the box safety he is. I've seen him a few times play and wasn't that impressed. He seems to be more of a thumper than a cover guy in space.

Delmas and Rashad are my choices when Sean Smith is gone :(

Here's my question though..Sean Smith is there at pick 40..do you move up?

Delmas looked really smooth in the drills.

He is target A for me now.

Chung is fast but doesn't have the hips for coverage.

I like Rashad Johnson and Delmas wayyy more.

And of course Sean Smith who will be gone. Some team is going to draft him as a CB then eventually move him to FS.

Three things.

1. Someone always slides.

2. I doubt we stay at 51.

3. Jerry likes to deal.

Add it up and anything is possible.
