I know it's just a game. I didn't expect us to go undefeated. However, I'm finding myself taking this loss harder than usual. I know I shouldn't, but this loss hurt. I'm always going to be a Cowboys fan. I enjoy this forum. I will never be a fan of an NFL team other than the Cowboys. I want to make that crystal clear, and that's not changing with this loss. Let me just explain what's on my psyche. If nothing else, this is a chance for me to just write my thoughts as it's better at times to write out my frustrations than keep them inside of me. So, please, do not take this as me quitting or anything. I'm simply putting my thoughts to paper, if you will. I'll be watching the game against the Patriots next week, and the following game and so on. I'm just struggling with this defeat.

To start with, I'm 30. I haven't seen the success many of you have. So, when I saw our defence playing like it did in the first two weeks, I got a bit more excited than usual. Of course, I know the Cowboys will likely blow it at some point. Only one team can win the SB, after all. Plus, I've never seen us even make the NFCC. So, all I know is us blowing it at some point in the season, and the wheels falling off. But, I couldn't help but think that this might be a special year. It still might be. It's only one game. That said, this looked like a better team than I'm used to seeing from the Cowboys.

Then, the injuries started popping up this week. I understand. It's the NFL. It's hard to go against another NFL team when you're down as many players as we were today. It's just, why is it every time something looks to be going our way for once, something disastrous always seems to happen? At first, I saw reports we'd be down a few linemen. That's okay, I thought, we have a great offense. What I didn't expect was that we'd practically be down everyone on that unit but Steele and I think Tyler Smith. Then came the worst of it. The Diggs injury. I was posting in hope that maybe we could mitigate that. And maybe we still will, but it certainly took some wind out of my sails for this week.

Then there's the fact that we were playing the Cardinals. I've been a fan since either 1999 or 2000 (not really sure which year). Very rarely have I seen us beat the Cardinals. Especially in Arizona. I don't understand it. Why is it that we so rarely seem to beat Arizona? This might be the one win they get this year, and it's always us, it seems, that gets embarrassed by teams like the Cardinals.

Finally, the refs were horrible! Absolutely disgraceful. We did no favours by committing the penalties we did, but it was so unevenly officiated. There were at least 3 PIs in the end zone that the refs never called. Those were at least 3 possible TDs taken off the board. Then the hold in the end zone that they said was at the 1. The amount of times Micah was getting held. All in all, I felt the refs were horrible.

All in all, I'm absolutely reeling from this defeat ATM. I know I shouldn't be. I know it's only a game, and I've seen plenty of losses from the Cowboys. It's just more difficult this game because I thought we were a much better team than we seem to be today. Hopefully, everyone will be healthier next game. I know Diggs is out, but hopefully, we can have a full compliment of oline players next game. Hopefully, we can actually score a touchdown in the Red zone. Hopefully, we can beat the Patriots.
The Cowboys are the Colorado Buffaloes of the NFL.

I don’t know how anybody that spent the majority of their life watching this modern-era of football, including with free agency and franchises robbing tax payers of money for their stadiums while city hopping, the amount of money it costs now to go to a team, could be attached to any team. This era we are inundated with social media where players no longer have a mystique about themselves, they all seem load-mouthed. Social media makes sports large and part gossip.

For those that grew up watching in the 70s-90s it’s just a different culture of football. Teams felt like they belonged to cities. Players had an aura about them, because we just saw them on Sundays. Nowadays every athlete has a podcast.

The integrity of game has become more questionable because gambling is now official part of football and other sports in general.

I suppose for me, it's just that the Cowboys are the team I've always liked. I could never bring myself to ditch them.

I used to take losses hard, but then I realize that it has nothing to do with myself or any one of us... if this team is getting dogged by the media, it's not us that they're attacking and most of the time, it's justified.

When I was 30 I felt the same way. We were in the midst of the Dynasty. No better feeling. 28 years later and I am so jaded. I'm always waiting for the other shoe to drop. I don't think I'll ever see another title. there are times like the last 2 week when I actually almost dream that things will be different then the real Cowboys show me who they really are.

I had every reason to believe that we would get upset. The reality of 3 missing OL is no joke in the NFL.

I was not surprised at all. But we had our chances. All those trips in the red zone and only scoring a few FG's made the difference. Of course, Dak turned to Dak at the end of the game. $40 million man.

I don't get the mentality that some of you have. I love the cowboys but my day or my week doesn't hang on a win/loss. They lose, it sucks, dont really spend much time thinking about it after.

Reminds me of high school/college fans. Maybe get some hobbies?

I will take the glass half full approach. It's better to have a game like this now then at the end of the season. The offense is moving the ball well between the twenties so if they can fix their red zone woes, they will be just fine. They were missing almost their entire offensive line, although I thought the backups were serviceable. I definitely think the defense will bounce back.

A couple of concerns though. No way did I see the defense getting a beat down at the hands of the Cardinals like it did. They didn't rally to the ball like they had been the first two weeks. I really thought that unit would not have a let down, would be consistent all year and would give them a chance to win any game. And, although Dak really wasn't a big reason they lost yesterday imo, he couldn't make big plays/throws when they needed him to. I am tired of seeing him not rise to the occasion when it's needed. But, I think they will turn it around this week. It's just a game brother. But I am with you, it was a very frustrating loss.

I am in KC and all the local and national media is about T Swift and Mr. Kelce. She will be their undoing this year.

It's disappointing, but just a blip on the season. This loss, however embarrassing, means nothing unless this becomes a trend for us. Even a rank bull has a timid day now and then. The next go round will only make him more nasty than normal.

This is the penalty for assuming the game would be easy. There are upsets every week in the NFL and this one had all the yellow flags well before the game was played. When Tyron Smith hit the injury report the day before the game we should have felt what was about to happen. We expected one or two of those guys would pay but when none played that should have set the alarms off.

I am not suggesting that the loss of the 3 linemen was the reason they lost. I think that contributed to the loss, but I do think it was a sign the Cowboys expected to beat win the game so they could rest those guys. Instead of the team getting fired up to cover the losses, I think they let down. Micah Parsons basically admitted as much.

They were never going to go 17-0 so this is one loss, but let's hope this one does not come back to haunt them later in the season when they need to win out to win the division of make the playoffs.

the game bothers me none. I'll run outside and jump over rainbows and play with the unicorns later. All will be good.
