CFZ I'm taking this loss a bit harder than usual

There used to be a point in Cowboys history when you didn't see games like this...when a team beat the Cowboys, they earned it. Never would you see a Cowboys team play as bad on offense and defense like they did yesterday. unfortunately, bad play like we saw yesterday has become a frequent thing for the Cowboys...it sucks...On to the next game...hopefully we don't see this type of play again for the rest of the season...but we probably will.. its what's expected from the Cowboys...I go into every game now...which Cowboys team will show up.... The good, the bad or the ugly..... It definitely was the ugly...LOL...enjoy the rest of the week guys and gals...if you can...

I know it's just a game. I didn't expect us to go undefeated. However, I'm finding myself taking this loss harder than usual. I know I shouldn't, but this loss hurt. I'm always going to be a Cowboys fan. I enjoy this forum. I will never be a fan of an NFL team other than the Cowboys. I want to make that crystal clear, and that's not changing with this loss. Let me just explain what's on my psyche. If nothing else, this is a chance for me to just write my thoughts as it's better at times to write out my frustrations than keep them inside of me. So, please, do not take this as me quitting or anything. I'm simply putting my thoughts to paper, if you will. I'll be watching the game against the Patriots next week, and the following game and so on. I'm just struggling with this defeat.

To start with, I'm 30. I haven't seen the success many of you have. So, when I saw our defence playing like it did in the first two weeks, I got a bit more excited than usual. Of course, I know the Cowboys will likely blow it at some point. Only one team can win the SB, after all. Plus, I've never seen us even make the NFCC. So, all I know is us blowing it at some point in the season, and the wheels falling off. But, I couldn't help but think that this might be a special year. It still might be. It's only one game. That said, this looked like a better team than I'm used to seeing from the Cowboys.

Then, the injuries started popping up this week. I understand. It's the NFL. It's hard to go against another NFL team when you're down as many players as we were today. It's just, why is it every time something looks to be going our way for once, something disastrous always seems to happen? At first, I saw reports we'd be down a few linemen. That's okay, I thought, we have a great offense. What I didn't expect was that we'd practically be down everyone on that unit but Steele and I think Tyler Smith. Then came the worst of it. The Diggs injury. I was posting in hope that maybe we could mitigate that. And maybe we still will, but it certainly took some wind out of my sails for this week.

Then there's the fact that we were playing the Cardinals. I've been a fan since either 1999 or 2000 (not really sure which year). Very rarely have I seen us beat the Cardinals. Especially in Arizona. I don't understand it. Why is it that we so rarely seem to beat Arizona? This might be the one win they get this year, and it's always us, it seems, that gets embarrassed by teams like the Cardinals.

Finally, the refs were horrible! Absolutely disgraceful. We did no favours by committing the penalties we did, but it was so unevenly officiated. There were at least 3 PIs in the end zone that the refs never called. Those were at least 3 possible TDs taken off the board. Then the hold in the end zone that they said was at the 1. The amount of times Micah was getting held. All in all, I felt the refs were horrible.

All in all, I'm absolutely reeling from this defeat ATM. I know I shouldn't be. I know it's only a game, and I've seen plenty of losses from the Cowboys. It's just more difficult this game because I thought we were a much better team than we seem to be today. Hopefully, everyone will be healthier next game. I know Diggs is out, but hopefully, we can have a full compliment of oline players next game. Hopefully, we can actually score a touchdown in the Red zone. Hopefully, we can beat the Patriots.

YEAH, I find if I kinda get my mind ready in advance for a loss, I can deal better. After all these years, Im numb to it, with some exception.

this. And if He says the fellas were down or sad about Diggs, I call BS! Grown arsed men must still do their jobs. They get paid millions to get it done. Not take a grieving day during game day. Thats what I saw. Slow footed unfocused guys. The blown coverages were all day. Quinn didnt get his message across. MM called a decent game. Not much the HC can do when the defense decides to stay home.

If you are a Cowboy fan, any loss is a little disturbing. That's what being a fan is all about. I know you have your reasons why this particular loss bugs you but they all kinda bug me. Some a little more than others. I have been watching since about 68-69 and losses still bug me. The cards and the boys used to play on Thanksgiving and they were all nailbiters. My grandmother would have to leave the room because she could not stand the pressure/excitement.

It's the nature of the game. Don't stop being a fan. You won't be sorry.

Agreed. Every unit lays a stinker once in a while. We need to know from him what happened.

I'll be staying as a fan, which I made clear in the OP. It was just, well, a disgusting game yesterday.

Honestly, the Dak interception didn't bother me too much. He was trying to make a play, and our receivers had been getting mugged all day without a call. The defence and our redzone offense were a massive eyesore.

Good post. The WR was crossing and if the defender was not there it would have been a TD. But he was there and Dak threw into coverage.

Really sad how badly they folded by losing only diggs. Means they werent SB caliber to begin with.

not mentally anyway, even the bkup ol guys played well so it wasnt that.
I think they were not ready mentally, and that is on mike.

rewatch the game. The backup Oline guys did NOT play well overall. Chuma in particular was terrible.

Sure, but it's a difficult situation because he's trying to push the ball into the end zone to give us a chance to equalise. It didn't appear that there were a lot of open receivers. So, Dak probably saw it as his best option. I suppose he could've tried to run it, but they started putting a spy on him, and that was zone coverage.
