Imagine if you will Demarcus Ware still on this defensive line

I understand that a truly elite edge rusher is one of the most impactful players you can have on your football team and you should look elsewhere to cut costs first.

BTW, Ware just got another sack. That's 7 in 6 games.

he now has more sacks then the entire Dallas cowboys team; which has played seven games.

It's to the point now where it's just silly to suggest otherwise. The Cowboys should have never released Ware. He's the same beast in Denver and he'd make this 6-1 team better.

one reason ware is doing well in denver is because they cant double or chip him like they would most of the time if he were still here. there is a guy named von who is giving ware the one on ones.

Again, sacks aren't everything.

How many sacks does this team have? What's the defensive passer rating? How many points per game is it allowing?

Who would you cut to pay for Ware?

You have to deal with elite players. Ware was definitely worth the investment until the last year or so. Ware wasn't elite last year, and has started having injury issues.

If Ware was still healthy and producing last year he would have been restructured, and the defense would have been better for it. But I'm pretty sure a single Ware is of more value to most teams then a rotation of three lesser guys. Lesser guys you don't have to game plan for. It's like saying we can replace Dez with Street, Beasley, and Harris and be better for it. We wouldn't be.

"Sacks aren't everything"

Criticizes ware for not getting sacks in the 4th quarter.

Why get rid of Ware? Why not just bring the whole team back that went 8-8 last year so we can continue mediocrity and continue to bring vets in here who were content with mediocrity? I guess people forget or liked the fact we had the worst defense in the league WITH Demarcus Ware, Hatcher and Sean Lee last year.....

Right. Sacks aren't everything. But they're pretty important and the best indicator of the pressure a player provides and nobody in the league has been better at it over his career than Ware. He's still today one of, if not the best edge rusher in the game. You do not release that kind of player. It's a bad decision.

Who would I cut? The entire defense. I start with Ware and work around him. I don't try to make Ware fit with the cast of misfits we currently field along the defensive line.

Honestly. It's silly. If you're going to tell me that wasn't a mistake after watching him on that Broncos defense, then I can't take anything you say seriously with this team. You'll literally say anything to defend them.

Except when he is ineffective or injured and off the field, you don't have to gameplan for him. And now the rest of the defense is less as a result of tying up resources in one guy.

If you tie up resources in someone, they have to deliver accordingly. Last couple years, he wasn't. They asked him to take a paycut, he didn't want to. They cut him. It was the right choice. Restructuring for aged players is bad accounting.

Sorry, I like this group of guys better. We still have Lawrence coming back as well. Don't want to pay for age with a guy who has had recent health issues.

Are we going to get a Ware thread every week when he as a couple of sacks?

Fact is, he didn't make much of an impact when he was here.
