You know, it can be simultaneously true that (a) Ware is a tremendous player who would make any defense better, and (b) it was the right move for the Cowboys to cut him this year. There's really no need to make up stuff about the guy's character to justify having cut him.

Right. Sacks aren't everything. But they're pretty important and the best indicator of the pressure a player provides and nobody in the league has been better at it over his career than Ware. He's still today one of, if not the best edge rusher in the game. You do not release that kind of player. It's a bad decision.

Who would I cut? The entire defense. I start with Ware and work around him. I don't try to make Ware fit with the cast of misfits we currently field along the defensive line.

Honestly. It's silly. If you're going to tell me that wasn't a mistake after watching him on that Broncos defense, then I can't take anything you say seriously with this team. You'll literally say anything to defend them.

That's worked great for our defense in the past....

It was a mistake letting him go.

I said in the summer that he'd have more sacks his first year in Denver than Mincey would have in his Cowboys career. He probably has already done enough to accomplish that.

If it was a mistake, I'm not sure it was a big one.

How many pieces of the current puzzle would be missing because his salary would have prevented various players from being signed?

They wouldn't likely be the same team with the same results. Several players have said they were waiting on the superstars to make plays and if this is true, then perhaps this is a great example of addition by subtraction. No disrespect toward Ware intended.

Now if you're suggesting they should have managed their cap and his contract better so they were able to keep him and manage his playing time while also performing the way they are without him, then sure, who wouldn't want that?

This is complete conjecture on your part. Ware would still be the best player on this defense.

No he wouldn't . He wasn't last year even with all those scrubs from the streets . In fact ware was a liability last year especially vs the run. He was a huge reason why the defense was so bad.

Last year he was injured, this year, while healthy he has more sacks than our combined defense. And he's no worse a run defender than any other RDE we are playing.

What would people rather have

a

10 - 2 - 2 -2

4 - 4 -4 -4

personally I'll take the 4 4s. Because you could take Ware out of a game with double teams and if he wasn't healthy. Taking all the guys out on the line? Not as easy.

Is this supposed to mean Ware is a 10 and the other 3 players are 2s? Vs 4 players who are a 4? If so, your logic is heavily flawed

Ware chose to leave. He wanted to leave the disfunction in Dallas and evidently he took a lot of the disfunction with him.

If he really valued the star and his teammates, he would have looked at his own production and given the team a chance to sign him at the level he was producing with an option to restructure for more money if he once again elevated his play. He chose money and I wouldn't be surprised if he regrets it when he lines up against Tyron Smith in Febuary.

Rather than say it's flawed why don't you expose it to be flawed.

Even with Ware for years we fielding porous defenses. This is a result of not having quality depth, and we didn't have quality depth because we overpaid for certain guys who we thought would carry our defense. When they showed up, things went great, and when they didn't... they didn't...

So what opportunity presented itself that proved to be more valuable than Ware has been this season to Denver?

The opportunity to field a more complete defense not only this year but next year rather than being held hostage by Ware's salary and declining play.

One of the greatest pass rushers..soft.

I for one think this whole "soft" and "nice" thing was completely blown out of proportion.

Well he bagged 3 sacks in the complete demolition of the 49ers...7 for the year so far for him...definitely headed for double-digits this year...if they don't overuse him.

Declining play? :lmao2:

Only the truly ignorant would confuse injured with declining skills. Pure comedy.
