The argument being made is he still couldn't get it done with loaded teams. Now the team isn't as loaded you're seeing he isn't talented enough to elevate lesser talent around him, and this year was proof of that. He has looked bad, like really bad.
Ok well that’s not the initial argument that was being made. I can’t argue against facts he didn’t get it done with Garrett as coach. Not saying it was Garrett’s fault but Dak couldn’t do it.

This isn’t lesser talent. This is no talent. No one even Daks biggest fan thought he could take Rico Dowdle and Lamb to the promise land with two rookie linemen. That’s stupid logic. If a better quarterback like Burrow needs Higgins and Chase why on earth would Dak need less? It’s stupid logic.

Yep! Just tell him we're going in a different direction and either agree on a trade or sit as the No. 2 quarterback.
If there's a market for him and he's truly a competitor, he'll cave.
Dak’s agent, Todd France, likely told Jerry Jones you’re going to pay Dak $60 million AAV, $231 million guaranteed or “we’re going in a different direction”. France has a fiduciary duty to his clients and certainly, if Dak wasn’t considering it already, advised Dak the Cowboys are never going to win because the team’s owner does not run the franchise well enough to compete for a Super Bowl in the contemporary NFL.

So, France informed Jerry Jones what it would take to sign Dak to an extension and the choice was Jerry’s to make. Jerry Jones decided to sign Dak. Now that he has the lucrative contract my guess is Dak Prescott would be fine moving on to almost any other team in the NFL. The one he’s with is not a good one. Now he has noting to lose. Threatening him with being “the No. 2 quarterback” is tantamount to no threat at all. It’s not like he’s playing for a big payday. That ship has left port.

Let's be honest we wasted good careers with this loser at the helm no question about it. I am one of the few who felt like he purposely sabotaged Wade to get the gig. The play calling and scheme changed when we was promoted. Dude is/was a snake in the grass, and set this franchise back decades.

We have been screaming he needed stacked teams to be successful but his biggest fans kept telling us he was so great and deserving of such a large contract and that HE was the one carrying the teams, when in reality he wasn't, and he's proven that when having to play with lesser talent. We keep telling you he isn't as good as you all prop him up to be.

They would not be spenders in FA regardless of that absurd contract.

And there are some who refuse to believe this and keep on putting their faith that Jerry Jones has the intention to spend more money in free agency one day. But as I said before, if Jerry really wanted to spend more money and thought Dak was the one holding him back from doing so, then nothing was stopping him from moving on from Dak in the offseason and starting off fresh by drafting a QB. Then opening up the checkbook to use free agency and trading to build around that QB while he was on his rookie contract.

Jerry Jones will feel like he never has to change in partially because he knows there are always going to be fans who buys into what he tells them when it comes to certain matters like the cap and free agency spending.

Name the QBs who you think could do better with this current roster and take them to the playoffs and win a Super Bowl with them. This team is no where near as good as the one who went 5-1 with Cooper Rush. If they were then how came Cooper Rush is 0-2 with them? The team in 2022 won because of the defense and this Cowboys team has one of the worst defenses in recent franchise history.

Also how many teams have actually won the Super Bowl with the approach Jerry Jones takes to roster building? What QB doesn't need a "stacked team" to be successful and win a lot of games?

It would be football glorious: New HC, 1st round QB, plenty cap space. It would be just like what Washington had last offseason. It would've been a quick reset.
LMAO some of you are such haters you can't even like see the forest through the trees seriously Washington was a quick turn around about the 18 years prior how long is Kirk cousins been gone from Washington when they tried to make this move how about the Browns Oh my God they won a game with a backup how many years before that have they been bad so much that they went out and did something desperate in getting deshaun Watson and then handing him money how about Denver how about The Jets how about about 20 teams that have spent I don't know 90 picks on quarterbacks that never worked out.lmao

right it's cookie cutter Washington overnight became great they cut their bad quarterback in the next freaking season they were awesome oh wait a minute no it was like I don't know how long is Washington been losing? That's just for you everybody else who reads this you guys are all absolutely delusional on how fast and how long it takes to win I mean how many chances did the Titans have at getting a better quarterback and who they stick with on average Joe, they tried to build around him with great defense and a running back and would that get them oh I don't know let's see the Oilers the Titans and now the Texans all have not won a Super Bowl..

Hater post bomb and it continues how about this you don't sign lamb either that's the only way this doesn't workout no lamb no Prescott no digs no Parsons you literally trade everyone and start over and then sit back and wait 2 I don't know 5,8,10,15 years..

why don't we keep this actually real you guys are absolutely haters Oh my God maybe we should go back use hindsight what if we didn't do this and what if we didn't sign back or romo we'd be in such great shape in a big sarcastic clown voice.

It's ironic that you think these teams had a fast turnaround when they're even the bears how long has it been oh wait a minute they've never had a franchise quarterback and please don't talk about the dude from the 80s McMahon he's not even as good as some jags in this era, hes basically Dilfer, ended up on a great team he was carried the same way Trent Dilfer was look at how many decades in their entire history, I don't think they've had a 4000 yard passer,

I mean literally have never had an elite quarterback but this overnight turn around ? you see only what they did last year to this year but how about the decades before??!! I'm just curious how you guys try to sweep that under the rug like we're in here it's some casuals ,no what you are is a DAK hater, anybody on this little train that acts like this can be turned around in a hurry hasn't been around very long looking at the rest of the league struggle just to do the very thing just find their quarterback first then build around them and you're right the only way to burn that down would not have signed back but you can't sign lamb once they sign lamb dak had to be next and now Parsons will be next so it would've either been blow it all up and wait for a very long time BEcause that is the reality there is no overnight success typically unless you just get flat out lucky...

Oh don't even get me started on the coaching staff so you're going to trust Jerry blowing this up with a whole new shiny coaching staff that actually can rebuild and start this all over again.

I mean you guys are talk out the side of your mouth you're hypocrites,

first you don't trust Jerry to build a team or draft the right guy or have a great offseason and now we should've got rid of all our core players and it would have been right back on the map you guys would have been excited and we'd have been playing great and then what in four years when we're playoff ready the same thing starts happening again new contracts big contracts but never any playoff success that could be on repeat I mean you guys are trusting with this owner that could have happened no he did the right thing have you signed lamb you had to sign back and we have to at least try to keep this open for a couple more years and then we can blow it all up trust me this isn't going to be the last year we're bad we're probably pretty good the next two years and then we can get rid of Prescott then we'll start over they had to leave this window open just one more shot I would've been OK blowing it all up but no you only mentioned Prescott but not lamb not Parsons not anyone else and you forgot to mention the front office...

While I hate losing, as I love my favorite sports team to be on the winning side and love football. What would be the boards feelings at this point knowing we would have all these high draft picks and possibly a new franchise QB?

Would your outlook on the future be the same? Would you be enjoying this season more?

Talk amongst yourselves…
now how about this stop with the hidden I hate that Prescott agendas without leaving any context... We gotta reboot from Romo to Prescott did we not did it go anywhere it sure didn't how about those 14 that we went from 8 men before Romo how about you discuss that before i drop this bomb on you.

Where did I say this team is as good as the one that went 5-1 with Rush? Never said that. That 2022 team was not playing well before Duck went down he was not playing all that great. This roster sucks, I've said this time and time again, but if you're paying your QB the type of money he's making you're saying he can elevate a team void of talent. If he can't elevate the team at all he is not worth the money, and NO JJ would not have spent the money elsewhere if he had not paid duck.

Jerry Jones accommodated Dak. And now all the Cowboys’ ills are Dak’s fault. Cowboys fans are as dysfunctional as the team’s front office. At any price Dak is better than the team deserves. Jerry Jones…isn’t.

I’ve never heard anyone say Dak carried teams. We have to be honest in these debates because a few people stating their opinions shouldn’t determine a whole group of people. I’ll speak for all Cowboy or Dak stans when I say Dak is not good enough to take this team past what it was. He can’t. He needs blocking, he needs a run game…he needs things to succeed. This shouldn’t be a news flash to anyone.

So of the other QBs who are being paid top 5, QB market setting money right now. How many of them could elevate this current 2024 Cowboys roster into a playoff contending or Super Bowl winning team? Since that is what some expects Dak to do. And which QBs coming out of the draft do you feel like would be able to elevate the Cowboys to a Super Bowl win without Jerry spending more money to improve the team around him through free agency and trading? Since the Cowboys would eventually have to pay Dak's replacement a few years after he is drafted due to how the market works. Which means potentially Jerry Jones still using the cap as an excuse for why he won't spend more money. And why he expects the next Cowboys QB to just be able to elevate the team around him, no matter how bad the roster is.

As Jerry's logic could be that a the next QB he drafts should just be able to "win with less" or elevate the team around him, especially if he is drafted in the first round.

But Dak would want to play, not languish on the bench. Sure, the Cowboys have to pay him. But they don't have to let him play either.

Why are you making an argument on something that nobody has suggested? Not a single person has said (insert said QB) would make the 2024 Cowboys a contender? I get you're going for a gotcha here, but nobody is making this argument. Jerry is not spending money to improve the team regardless of Ducks contract or any rookie QB contract, but that does not mean Duck is worth the money he is making.

Jerry Jones will feel like he never has to change in partially because he knows there are always going to be fans who buys into what he tells them when it comes to certain matters like the cap and free agency spending.
seriously there are Jerry "Stans" (since they love the word) here...its the definition of insane...."If Jerry wasnt' forced (who forced him?) to give Dak that contract he would be doing things (things he has never done BTW) in the FA off season!!!!---Dak is EVIL!!!" No man Jerry has you in some tranist state and you need to seek help now! BTW they have cap room and will have cap room and will continue to not build this team the way you want...thems the breaks with this GM.

GB had the 32nd ranked pass defense that year. As usual Dak chokes for 3 quarters of the game and than scores 3 TDs in the 4th quarter and he is exempt from blame. The defense gets blamed.
Some of you keep coming up with excuses for why Dak plays well. You refuse to give him an ounce of credit. The mark of a good QB is to come on strong in the 4th quarter when games are on the line. It debunks all this BS that he’s a choker. Would you rather have a QB that plays great for 3 quarters then craps the bed in the 4th quarter with the game on the line? The defense gets the blame when you’re tied with a minute left and they give up a huge play with the game on the line resulting in a loss. Our defense choked in that game and it hilarious you would even attempt to defend the defense. Lol
