....so you're on the Support Dak Team this morning.

It's telling how you don't actually address the facts, just the semantics. Cap% matters, and less gaslighting....one of Jerry's biggest issues is the contract he just gave Dak.
How did we win 12 games each of the last 3 years while Dak had a large cap hit???

How is Dak's contract to blame for this season when his new deal LOWERED the cap hit???

Amazing lack of simple logic from some of you people.

Good one.

What do players get for being a Pro Bowler and All-Pro?

"DURRR THOSE ALSO MEAN NOTHING!"

A couple of things. Jerry Jones is making it more difficult for the Cowboys to win, not Dak's contract. He's the GM. He has to do his part first, before anyone starts blaming Dak's contract. Jerry Hasn't.

To answer your two questions. Dak didn't have large cap hits when we went 12-5.

Dak's cap hit this year is higher than it has ever been going into a season. Same goes for percentage of cap. It's only rivaled by his franchise tag year.

They had a two score lead which was far from safe. Dak was still putting up numbers when we got within a score and tied the game. He played well and it’s obvious you don’t want to acknowledge it.
GB's passing defense that year was putrid. Dak's performance for a QB at home against that GB team was average by pretty much any measure.

Not good if you consider the offensive supporting cast the 2016 Cowboys had.

Your point would be more convincing if Ryan didn't almost match Dak's numbers the following week in the first half.

You'd be much better off if you just praised Dak for his performances where he actually performed well, the 2 wins.

You sound like a Dak hater. Matt Ryan was league MVP in 2016 and Atlanta went to the SB. Ryan was a veteran QB who had a career year and you’re trying to compare his performance against GB with Dak who was a rookie? Some of you look for every angle in an attempt to discredit him.

While I hate losing, as I love my favorite sports team to be on the winning side and love football. What would be the boards feelings at this point knowing we would have all these high draft picks and possibly a new franchise QB?

Would your outlook on the future be the same? Would you be enjoying this season more?

Talk amongst yourselves…
I lost faith after Pittsburgh.
Dak will be known as the QB who swindled a franchise. It wasn't that Dak was so smart to work tha contract as Yoda was too stupid to meet the challenge.
In essence, had Dak been told to vacate the premises, I would be happily looking forward to drafting (from this 3-7 standpoint) Dillon Gabriel as QB and happily dreaming of a rebuilding in 2025 and perhaps be a playoffs contender in 2026.

 Dak gets praised for that game when he put up comparable stat lines to what Marcus Mariota, Blake Bortles, and Matt Barkley did in the regular season to GB at home, let alone the good QBs that just destroyed them.

Dude, it was a playoff. Not to mention we got down by two scores and he brought us back to tie that game. That was a 10-6 Packers team with a HOF QB and you’re making it sound like they sucked. You hate Dak, we get it!

Actually, I see a completely difunctional organization that Dak has carried as best one man can. Football is a team sport more than most. He is not in his prime but not the problem.

Team sport in which the scales are tipped so one player makes $60 a year, more than 10 linemen make in one year.

That is because this is a Dallas Cowboy forum, not a Dak forum.

But, you could start a Dak forum if you want to, I'm sure one or two from here would love to go there.
Why? You haters will only venture in there and start slinging ish all over it.

Signing Dak was worse than Taco over watt, joey Galloway, shante carver, Roy Williams and firing Jimmy combined.
Well there was that time when Jerry burst into the War Room and announced we were going to take Quincy. Of course more alarming than that…

He wanted him because he thought he was the next Donovan McNabb.

so you are pouring on the hate on a Rookie? really!!! seriously? how many rookies made it to the superbowl. or CCG in their rookie year in all the history of NFL.

the issue wasn't Dak, as he led the team on a crucial drive and tied the game and gave the team a chance. the defense collapsed giving up not one, not two, but three big plays allowing GB to get into field goal position. losing to a future HOFer in the process.

IMHO, the problem was they didn't switch back to Romo when he was healthy. they went with the supposed hot hand and no one will ever know if Romo could have continued. you need experience of playoffs. Dak didn't have that. you need to have lost in playoffs in clsoe games to understand how to play in the playoffs. Dak didn't have that. the issue wasn't Dak, it was stupid Jerry Jones mandating to Garrett to keep Dak playing.

While I was in the cap that thought its better for Dak and Cowboys to part ways, it was going to be a really hard decision given three 12-5 seasons. being fools gold. Jerry couldn't part ways with filled house and the jersey sales driving his decisions. plus he cornered himself yet again, against the same player by not having a single QB on the roster for 2025. that's idiotic...and he was probably thinking as many were another successful season and then in 2025 he is caught holding his nuts.....plus dragging both CD and Dak contracts ridculously late into the off season. stupid stupid stupid stupid, but it was a marketing genuis that kept cowboys on front page during the slowest time of the year (that's jerry for you).

with all of that said, we still have 23M this year on the cap...why didn't he spend, lets say another 3 M to sign henry and another 6-8Mto grab a much better DT and fill other holes? he went cheap as they always do.
next year we can open up 65M in cap space with a few simple restructures.....

so cap space is not the issue. Jerry jones personnel management is the biggest issue this team has.

He didn’t even get 1 vote. 49 went to Lamar Jackson and the other to Josh Allen, meaning nobody who voted thought Dak was the MVP. He did get some second place votes, but that’s all meaningless because they only started doing that the year prior, meaning there is nothing to reference that meaningless stat to. Plenty of other players also got second place votes.

GB had the 32nd ranked pass defense that year. As usual Dak chokes for 3 quarters of the game and than scores 3 TDs in the 4th quarter and he is exempt from blame. The defense gets blamed.
