There are 6 teams that have not won a Superbowl in 28yrs or more, starting with the 49ers it’s been 28yrs for them, 27 for us.
There are 12 teams that has never won a Superbowl.
You are getting a lot of crap for your post but I think this sometimes. We seem a bit entitled at times. Every team wants to turn into the Patriots (dynasty) or even the Saints (1) but there are only so many trophies.

Isn’t that better than ”just winning regular season games” and never playing in the Super Bowl?
Its the same! Jesus Christ, you play the season to win the superbowl. It doesn’t matter how good your season is or how if you play in the superbowl, winning is winning.

In ANY other sport community like soccer (football) teams like 49ers are considered funny, incompetent and a joke because with many good teams and seasons they can’t win it all. My soccer team took 20 years to win something, they were leaders overall, 9 lost finals are they were laughing stock, because being last and second is the same.

I would rather have 10 bad seasons and win 1 championship than almost 30 years playing “good football” and choke in the finals. Dallas and San Francisco have been the same, just with different stories. To be better you need to win championships, because you compete on a league to do that.

Mediocrity my friend, Mediocrity. The fan base not only loves it, they defend it.

What else isnt the OP adding to the argument, why "Dallas hasnt been relevant in all that time" "But the playoffs"? they will argue, "sure sure, a few one and dones, but who takes tahte serious besides our fans?" no one, dats who. Who respects a team that hits the bottom of relevancy? Only our fans who defend mediocrity and havent known we used to have high standards.

Riddle me this Bat OP, name another franchise to fire not 1 SB winning head coach, not 2, but 3?
Actually wouldn't it be 4?

Landry, Jimmy, Switzer (technically a super Bowl winner even though he was window dressing) and Parcells (didn't win a Super Bowl in Dallas but has rings)

Just musing on this in my mind.....

Or did Parcells leave on his own?

The 49ers have been to 3 super bowls in that time. Probably more championship games as well. We haven't been to any of that. That's worse. No wins or hope.
This. It’s about playing in the conference championship game, something only us and Washington haven’t been able to do 28 seasons in a row. The Lions left that group last season. Washington changed ownership, GM (an actual credentialed proven GM with GM experience. So, yeah I‘m confident Washington will leave us as the sole team unable to make a conference championship game. They have their franchise QB, a real GM, and their owner doesn’t interfere with their head coach.

Yeah. I have an easier time losing in the Super Bowl than not making a championship game in that same amount of time. There are all kinds of factors involved in winning a Super Bowl. Getting there is a feat unto itself, but getting to a championship game is not nearly as improbable considering how many teams have done it in those 27-28 years that we have not.

Whiners look so much closer to breaking that streak than us, I'm praying Mahomes there-peats before Frisco getting their 6th.

2014 the D was horrible so I knew no chance

2007 I really thought we would meet the Pats in the SB

2016 no way with a rookie QB
Pretty much spot on. I just had some unrealistic hope in 2014 and 2016. We had crap defenses in both of those years. We couldn't turn the ball over, and we had to dominate time of possession. That's really hard to do in the playoffs.

There are 12 teams that has never won a Superbowl.
In baseball 5 teams have never won the Commissioners trophy.
In basketball 10 teams have never won Larry O'Brien Trophy.
In hockey 10 teams have never won the Stanley cup.
12 teams have never won the Lombardi trophy.
That 37 pro teams with zero championship wins. Yeah, our drought sucks but at least we've seen great success compared to so many sports teams....unless you're under 35 years old.

The fans that I feel sympathy towards are not the ones whose team never went to a Super Bowl like the Browns and Lions.

I would think that the most disappointed fans are the one's whose teams have gone to multiple Super Bowls but never won. The most unfortunate teams are the Vikings and Bills. That has to sting. So close and, yet, so far.

In many cases there were games in which the Bills and Vikings came close but lost by a sore or two. Fans are haunted by the one or two specific plays that made the different between being a championship team and being just one of the other 31 teams.

The Bills lost to the Giants by one point in 1990. Did you know that, before that game, the three closest Super Bowls were the three that the Cowboys lost?

I think that losing a Super Bowl is worse than not getting there. It's almost a tease. Your team had a great season, went on a winning streak during the playoffs and needs one more victory to claim that they were the best team that year.

Fans whose team went to one or two Super Bowls in their history and lost will end up chasing that high for the rest of their lives. I'm thinking of teams like the Cardinals, Titans and Chargers. It's interesting that all three teams ended up moving out of their original city at some point.
I learned as a youth learning about football. Appreciate a hard fought game and support a real sportsmanship.

Some of those teams "won it all" before the Superbowl era though.

I mean...the Lions won championships in the 40s and 50s I believe.

Before you laugh and say "the 40's and 50's", remember this: in just a few years, our championships from last century will be closer to the Lions championships in the 50s, than to the modern present day

The Chiefs were 50 years in between winning another Super Bowl before winning multiple ones in recent years.

At least the Niners have been to the Super Bowl 3 times in that span and a NFCC game. We can’t even get past a divisional game
