Shoot, JITB tacos are the bomb!

Where else are you gonna get a taco, that's manufactured completely offsite..Flash-frozen, with the lettuce inside...Then deep-fried to order, mystery meat, frozen lettuce et al, 2-for-$2!?

Plus, the greese/oil dripping from the bottom, comes at no-charge!

All that being said, I actually crave those from time-to-time, and have been known to "sandwich" two side-by-side, and eat 4-6 in a sitting. Yum-o!

The tacos are only fried with the meat and cheese inside.

Actually just with the meat.. Unless something's changed since I worked there awhile ago, but the taco only has meat in it before it's fried.

After it's fried, you add the 1/2 slice cheese and shredded lettuce.

Would you eat the taco?

I did when I worked there...which was also when I ate beef and pork.

Don't eat beef now, so I wouldn't eat it now..

Man, when I was 17-25 I could eat those tacos 6-8 in a sitting. Now I eat one and it sits in my stomach like a rock and gives me heartburn. No mas!!

I think Mooyah and Five Guys are the exact same thing. Have you had Five Guys?

Yeah I've had Five Guys, seemed way too greasy for me, and not enough options for toppings. But that may just be that location, and I'm sure it varies.

Ya know, as a native Texan, I should probably feel guilty for saying this. But, Whataburger's BURGERS SUCK! Always have, apparently always will.

Their meat is virtually tasteless and paper-thin, and there's a reason it is. It's some of the cheapest quality-grade purchased in the fast-food market.

Their bun's taste is WAY too sweet to begin with. Then their halfhearted attempt at toasting them fails miserably, and only enhances the sweetness, while leaving 1/2 the bun soggy.

Now, @ 2am on a sunday morning, their breakfast taquitos rule! But I've NEVER been able to understand the "their hamburger's are the best" crowd. But then, like I always say... Opinions on food, music, beauty etc etc, are ALWAYS subjective.

You're more than welcome to like or dislike Whataburger, and I have absolutely no problem with that. Everyone is entitled to opinions, and it's not wrong.

However, I'm just commenting on the part I've bolded - to point out that it is 100% factually incorrect. Whataburger actually uses some of the highest quality beef in any quick serve restaurants. It's high quality 100% beef, and it always has been.

If you don't like it, like I said, that's totally ok - but let's not pass off opinion as fact, when its totally baseless.

Source: I personally am involved in product development for Whataburger in San Antonio.

I'll throw a Dairy Queen Belt Buster into the mix.

I love DQ...!

The chicken strips, white gravy, fries, Texas toast!

My teeth sweat just thinking of those!

Been there many times, and I can attest to this. That is, if you like chili on your burger. Otherwise I'll take a double double animal style.

All I know is 2 am they are awesome!

You're absolutely right on. "Meat" and shell only. Then 1/2 slice of American cheese (2 for the Super taco way back when) lettuce and then a strip of hot sauce (Super taco had salsa).

Kind of a derail here, but I have been in the Hollywood area a month now. I have heard the hype regarding Pink's Hot Dogs for about 20 years. I am always looking for a good dog, so me and the wife went there for lunch. I had the Polish dog with pastrami, bacon, sauerkraut and cheese, it was fantastic!!!

About 8 hours later and I am still full, we also had onion rings and bacon-cheese fries.

My next trip I will get the Emeril Lagasse dog :)
