Read the bold part, genius.

I am sure having 3 players in the top 15 in sack numbers in the NFC means they dont need Urlacher getting after the QB, even though he has shown he can do it in the past.

how convenient....:lmao:

Urlacher looked pretty average a couple of years ago when his tackle play was bad

Ding Ding Ding...We have a winner. Ray Lewis was excited about getting some help at DT, why? He said to keep those linemen off him so he could make plays. If we had their middle of the d line maybe we would have a MLB that could make plays. That is not a slap to Fergie because I think he did a really nice job this year, but any quality MLB will tell you that he is as good as his DT's!

Ive shown you what his responsibility is in the scheme, Ive shown you he can get after the QB (21 sacks in 4 years before the tampa 2, 6 sacks last year) who cares about the talent he plays with? Do they do the MLB job in the tampa 2 for him? Do they get well over 100 tackles a season for him? And about D, who cares, an athletes unfaithful, it must be the end of the world.

We should probably focus more on what Carp can do instead of what Brian Urlacher can do, I really could care less.

IMO, Carp would make a great MLB or ILB. He's very smart, nifty, and somehow he's near the ball, and guess what? He was just a freaking rookie, give him some time, give him a good professional offseason workout, and then let's see where he is.

6-2 260 in Bobby with 4.65 speed....

6-4 254 Urlacher with low 4.5 speed..

Not Even close....

If you watched Bobby at OSU , he was an ankle tackler. Urlacher wraps up and explodes through people. He is best suited as a SOLB in a 4-3, not a MLB has it was evident in play ( escpecially on kickoff team) that he cant shed a block to save his life. Urlacher is the same way though. Relies on his speed and instincts to put himslef in a postion to make a play.

Give Carpenter an off season to do some weight training and then see how he can shed blockers. Don't compare Carpenter in his first season with Urlacher who has a couple more seasons of experience. Also, Carpenter was asked to play on the inside, where he had to "learn" the new position. That definitely slowed him down. I think Carpenter can become a great Cowboy linebacker, just like Ware can. Both need some consistency in their training regimen, and need experience in the 3-4, a scheme neither played growing up.

Too bad Im from Colorado originally, not that it matters.

You probably see Urlacher play once or twice a year and are saying he is overhyped because you are clueless.

These names arn't to shabby.

Ray Lewis, Zack Thomas, and I like Jonathan Vilma too. But, it's always "arguable".

All of them are great players no doubt, but you cant say any of those names are clearly better then Urlacher.

Urlacher is the best linebacker in the NFL, we would be lucky if Carp was 75% of what Urlacher is.

ray 1st, brian 2nd. once they retire thought that maybe different but tell then Ray is better then brian.

Who is better?

Just MLBs or all LBs?

MLB:

Al Wilson
Zach Thomas

*anyone that says Ray Lewis is better then Urlacher needs to slap themselves in the face. A few years ago? No doubt, but not now. Not even close*

OLB:

Shawne Merriman (one dimensional, but he's great at his one dimension)
Lance Briggs (even Urlacher himself calls Briggs the best LB on the bears' roster)

no he's not.... he's the most hyped/marketed....

Have you watched Chicago this season? Did you not see Urlacher covering a guy downfield stride for stride, turn and knock the ball out of the air like most cornerbacks in the league couldn't even do? I have no reason to like any Chicago Bear but Urlacher is simply the best linebacker I've ever seen play.

don't remember exactly which year, just remember reading that he was getting engulfed by Olinemen when his tackles suffered injuries

so you guys that are saying Urlacher is overrated are basing that on what you read?

Urlacher gets dominated by linemen, so he sucks as a LB?

That's like saying Petyon Manning is a bad QB because he can't chase down corners who pick off his passes.
