I need to increase my speed for my upcoming football season, what workouts would assist in this?

Stretching and running for stride length. Leg exercises for overall strength. HGH shakes to make up for shoddy genes.
 
10-12 sprints a day. Start out with 40 yard sprints. Then work your way up to 100. Eventually you want to be doing 10 200 yard sprints a day.

Studies also show, especially for young posters, that if you spend a maximum of 5 minutes per day on the CZ message board that you can potentially build up Olympic-level speed.
 
Get a shoulder harness and drag tires when you jog, run uphill, do sprints often...

Strap a raw ribeye steak around your waist, and walk past a pack of pit bulls...

It worked for me...

Alternatively, you could go look up David Buehler, and tell him his girlfriend is butt-ugly... that might be an effective training technique to increase your speed, too...
