I guess you have to put yourself in Jerry’s shoes. If you had a bitter breakup with an employee, would you want to honor them? We’ve all had fallouts with people and sometimes no matter how many years go by you never get over it. Every time it appears Jerry and Jimmy may be patching things up. Jimmy always says something about why the Cowboys can’t get over the hump and it usually has to do with how Jerry runs the team. Things obviously had to go real sideways between Jerry and Jimmy for them to mutually agree that Jimmy would no longer coach the team, while they were having such great success.

Jimmy admitted he was angered because Jerry took credit for a trade he made. Jerry admitted years ago in an interview that he was very angry at Jimmy for mentioning coaching another team while the Cowboys were in the middle of a Super Bowl run. That led to Jerry saying that anyone of 100 coaches could’ve led the Cowboys to those championships. That comment pissed Jimmy off and the rest is history. They put on a happy face when they’re together in public but it’s obvious things aren’t good between them. It’s pretty doubtful Jimmy will ever get into the ROH at least while Jerry is alive.

I think Jimmy was going in after Jerry got into the HOF. But Jimmys book Swagger just brought up bad feelings again.

I don’t think Jimmy is going in while Jerry is alive.

Jerry told everyone what was going on during Training Camp if they paid any attention.

Jerry loves the story line that the Jimmy/Jerry feud generates amongst the national talking heads. He loves the attention and loves people talking about the Cowboys. Allowing Jimmy in the ROH eliminates the story. I'd look for this to happen during a down year where the team wins like 3 games and is struggling badly with national viewership. Provided of course that both are still alive.

Stop offending turds... they don't deserve to be compared to Jerry.

Turd was being way too kind and PC on a forum where swearing is frowned upon. Throw in some expletives and an exclamation. lol

Jerry was on 105.3 saying the he thought the ring was for players, and totally sidestepped any questions regarding Jimmy. But I would bet you anything there are instructions for Spaulding to put Jerry in the ring within a week of his passing.

Ring is just for players
Jerry's a turd.. plain and simple.
Off subject (kind of) but just today I learned why he’s called

Jerry is going to put Ware into the Ring of Honor but not Jimmy Johnson. What an idiot !

I do not blame Dak or the players. Jerry Jones is the ONLY constant for the 30 years of not even getting to a NFC Conference game. Not winning it the damn game, just getting there. Not Jerry wants to put Ware into the ROH and winning a ring with the Broncos, while Jimmy wins 2 titles with Dallas. The bible clearly states: Pride goes before destruction. Jerry's PRIDE has killed the Cowboys--ON THE FIELD
Jerry states ANY coach could have won the Superbowl with the players Jerry put on the field. Sorry idiot Jerry, you proved, for the past 30 years, you can not put a team together to even get to a NFC Conference game.
Who cares, I don’t. Jerry can do whatever the heck he wants. Jimmy has had a fantastic life because of the Dallas Cowboys.

Coach Landry is in.
GM Tex Schram is in.
If you are going to make lame excuses
At least be factual.
This is a really low point in Cowboys history.

Who really cares? Jimmy Johnson is in the NFL Hall of Fame. Do you really think he cares about Jerry’s Ring of Honor? He doesn’t live in Texas; he doesn’t attend games or practices. He doesn’t show any real interest or connection with the Cowboys despite his short term as head coach.

Those who became fans back in the 90’s are probably the only ones who really care. This isn’t like the Cowboys players who’ve had to wait on the HOF. It’s a nice gesture, but I find it hard to believe that anyone in the HOF is losing sleep over the Ring of Honor.

Jerry will go to his death bed being a spiteful old man.

Remember at the end of Braveheart (even though this part was just hollywood adding stuff) when the woman told the king on his death bed that her son was Williams and not the kings son.

Someone needs to pull that to ole Jerry. Right at the end say, we are Putting Jimmy in the ROH in a few minutes.

Is that mean of me to say...no worse than Jerry's spiteful old wrinkled arse.

It was so long ago. Why carry a grudge like that to your grave? I mean, we are just talking a professional spat. It's not like Jimmy physically harmed Jerry or any of his family members.

I'm pretty stubborn and prideful, but I would have let it go many years in the past.

You are correct and therein lies the problem.

It's never been about players, it's always been about Jerry. When people say it's a culture problem it is. It's about exposure and misdirection. Look at Dak's bad week of practice throwing picks and reigniting the chatter about his ability to win on all the debate shows. What happened? Jerry immediately gave Martin his contract after publicly stating he wouldn't. That was all about deflection because god forbid Jerry overpaid for a QB who can't win. He turned a negative week into a positive week, not based on a football decision but an image decision.

With any other organization, this is a Super Bowl-caliber team, yes even with Dak, but it will never win a Super Bowl because the organization has a deep embedded flaw that on-field performance can never overcome.

It’s easy for fans on the outside to say that, but we weren’t part of it. We don’t know every single detail that went on between them behind closed doors. We know it was bad enough for them to agree they could no longer work together, despite the great success the team was having. Jerry said in his own words that Jimmy wanted more control. It was clearly a clash of egos. Jimmy working with Fox continues to make comments that isn’t helping his cause any. He made a comment years ago after Bill Parcells left the Cowboys that he thought Jerry might have learned something by now, but that he continues to run the team the way he does. I remember Jerry being told about Jimmy’s comment on the radio and he just brushed over it. Both Jerry and Jimmy are stubborn and prideful. Both still want most of the credit for the success the Cowboys had during the 90s.
