Insanity = 3rd and 1

I can't tell you how many times on third down yesterday we threw the ball less than what was needed. (3rd and 9.....throw the ball 6 yards). It's MADDENING.

It's extremely frustrating. I read/heard last night we lead the league in completed passes short of the first down. I would imgine we lead the league by a pretty wide margin. Because it happens several times each game.

Lucky Whitehead taking the field on most running plays is absolutely mind boggling

Devin Street on an active roster is mind boggling.

Rod Smith flanking out wide as a WR every time he's on the field is mind boggling.

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Week after week this season we found ourselves in 3 and 1. Week after week we lined up in the "Jumbo" formation and handed it off to the left side. Time after time we failed to pick up the 1 yard needed. Common sense would tell you you need to come up with a different play for 3rd and 1. Yet today once again we go into the Jumbo formation only to get stuffed once again.

Is it Garrett being stubborn or just stupid?

Common sense should tell you that when your in the Jumbo formation that your lining up 11 defenders against 9 offenseive players. The QB and RB are not picking up blockers therefor putting your line at a severe disadvatage. The QB is turning around and handing the ball to the RB who is 5 yards deep. DUH!

We do not have a great line nor do we have a bowling ball running back. Granted the line could possibly win a 1 on 1 match up so why not spread the offense and then run either a QB sneak (a la Brady) or take your chances with your RB after you have removed the CB and safetys out of the stack.

Why on earth would you remove Dez to stand on the sideline and replace him with Lucky Whitehead who is expected to block? What ever happened to throwing it up to the back of the endzone pilon for Dez to go up and get? This was our bread and butter for years but now we put him and that threat on the sidelines?

Once again Garrett is outsmarting himself. We are the WORST at 3 and 1 and Garrett continues to run the same play. Mayny would call this Insanity, I chose to call it stupidity.

Add to the 3rd and 1 ineptitude, consistantly running routes a yard short on 3rd and longs.

Last I checked he was the HEAD coach, and as the HEAD coach he is responsible for an area of the team that as been problematic this year i.e. 3rd and short.

I've been bringing this up all along. WE are as predictable as the sun rising in the east, and the sun setting in the west.

There is no reason for us to keep running that same play over and over and expecting the same results.

It has stopped our drives and us settling for a punt or a field goal.

Someone needs to be help responsible for this. I'd like to say its Garrett's fault but people get mad at me for not towing the party line. So I'll have to find something else to blame.

The Ravens said as much when they blew up Texas stadium on their easy out.

what sucks even worse is the fans. they are like kids at Christmas that open up socks as a present.

It's not the OL. ITS THE PLAYCALLING. When you do the same thing over and over and over, the league is quick to learn. The play calling is beyond awful. I can't tell you how many times on third down yesterday we threw the ball less than what was needed. (3rd and 9.....throw the ball 6 yards). It's MADDENING.

Not play calling. Play design and focus.

I cannot count the number of times I could take a good look a Beasley and how he behaved at the snap of the ball that there was no way the play was designed to go anywhere near him.

He would run a soft zig and the ball is released right away to the opposite side of the field.

I realize Garrett and Linehan are here to stay, but they better put their pointed heads together and reconsider what they think an efficient attacking offense looks like.

Arians and Turner run similar variants of the same system and they attack the field with matchups, bunch sets and zone busting concept routes, not option routes.

It is his design. Linehan just works here. It doesn't matter what plays he calls if the design is weak to begin with.

It would be shocking if we all knew the real truth about how much Romo's improvisation and tweaking mattered.

Of course, nobody will ever say that, but when you have two separate and distinct QBs have the same results, it is not them. Nor the playcalling either.
