The problem I had was with 40 seconds left in a half we shouldn’t have been taking that chance up 28-14. We should’ve just played it safe, but we gave Chicago a cheap three points before the half. That changed the momentum and could have cost us in the second half. The last thing we needed was to give Chicago a spark.

It was a great throw and a great decision by Dak. I want my team to stay aggressive and keep their foot on the gas regardless of how many seconds are left. CD pulled up on the route and the interception was on him. CD isn't a #1 and he doesn't have what it takes to wear #88. I say next year let him wear his own number since he didn't want to wear 88 initially.

Do you not understand how the play is suppose to work? I'm tired of repeating myself, if you want to get the explanation. Listen to the audio. 21:00 it's the same exact explanation I gave. I got trick or treaters.

Why try to explain. He is looking at it from the standpoint of Cee Dee running a great pattern and Dak throwing a bad pass. He doesn’t realize the route that should have been run and the anticipation of where the receiver should have been.

You're right and that's why I stopped. Some people just don't understand football and don't want to understand.

The best decision would have been to check it down, or just eat it and end the half on a high note.
Garret Ball 101 right there.....

How about the best decision is getting go for kill before the half, get Cooper Rush 4th QTR playing time and rest starters.

No he didn't, doesn't mean he will never.

You should take the L on this one. You said he would get snapped up quickly the moment we got rid of him. He wasn’t. And then when he got an OC job he quickly bombed out there.

He’s now doing ND games on NBC and frankly isn’t all that good there either. He’s kind of blah.

Let's all just blame Kellen for calling that play with 40 seconds left with 1 timeout while you're up 14 pts. There is no need for that, just take a knee or run some high percentage plays and see what happens.

On the throw itself it was probably one of Dak's only poor throws, but he got zero help from Ceedee. He had to go try to make a play on the ball instead of just watching the defender catch it. Couple bad routes on that series too.

Hendershot ran a shallow cross to pull up the linebackers with Lamb running a cross behind him. Lamb drifted up field instead of crossing in front of the safety.

He may have thought Lamb was going to cut that sharper and cross the face of the safety, but he threw it directly where the safety was, setting Lamb up to take a big hit. With that coverage, Prescott should have gone elsewhere.

The one time Dak should have thrown a little behind the receiver..... Haha

Yep, they just weren't on the same page. Dak was expecting Lamb to go hard across the safety. Lamb saw the safety in the middle of the field and took his route more upfield. We always want to assign blame, but there is some flexibility in patterns based on what the defense is doing. The QB-WR have to read it the same, but that doesn't necessarily mean either is wrong. Maybe if Lamb had cut it in more, he would have made the catch or maybe he would have been decapitated. Maybe if Dak had thrown it more to the inside, Lamb would have been able to make the catch or the trailing defender would have knocked it away or intercepted it.

Lamb definitely let his route drift and didn’t cut hard underneath the safety like he should have. But the QB also should recognize that Lamb was too deep on the route for him to realistically get to where the ball was going to be placed and not try it.

Both share responsibility

I'm not forgiving Lamb at all. It was a poor route and once again he shows a complete lack of willingness to fight for the football. Still why would you throw a pass directly at a S reading you all the way. It was a poor decision that ends up incomplete even if Lamb plays it perfectly. If lamb runs a better route do we get an INT? I doubt it, but i see zero chance of avoiding a collision between Lamb and the DB there.

Basically what I'm saying is Dak should not be throwing passes that require his WR to make an insane play on the football up multiple scores about to go in at the half. More bad from good happens in that scenario. If we are down 10 points in the 4th quarter I'm all for Dak trying to force a pass like that. Given that situation though it was a bad time given the risk/reward.

qb - wrs do that all the time.. and if Lamb flatten route stays full speed he can get there i say he could maybe its incomplete, but he gets there first collision catch ball hits ground, Sorry but sometimes you should trust your WR to go get one. Its called 50-50 ball

since when is that NEW!!!???!!!! oh only when dak throws it ,has his wr hesitate not flatten route, drift, and its INT, sorry the consensus so far from fans and media watching that play in all angles and speeds is 60-40 it was the ER fault. so play call 25% at fault, throw 15%- wr 60% at fault. Plenty of blame. its lie the final 9er paly dak getting heat for a questionable play call, for ref not being alert and jogging in that situation where same week ram's gam same thing happens But an UP Ref goes and sets it.. always on dal from dak haters,

next.. we won by 20 still trying to find fault in daks last 2 games back from broken throwing hand where he what 75% comp% 4 td, 1Rush Td 1 INt and a win by 18 and 20 around 113 qbr LMAO

this is why fans cant stand other fans who expect certain players under certain contract to be phreaking perfect. its gets old..

Right..it was a bad route but the only throw that would've kept Lamb from getting killed wouldve been low and inside and with the low zone defender in front would have been a ridiculous tight window.
