I re-watched the game last night and La'el and Tyron had good games in the pass blocking department. It took me about 3 hours to watch it even though I didn't watch not one commercial. I rewound just about every play to see who was doing what. They are not the problem. The problem is in the middle as we all know. On both sides of the ball too. Just about every player on the defensive side of the ball was burned a time or two. SF does have some deceiving run play, I'll give them that. Way more creative than us. I seen several times where the RB follows #44 in between the guards and center, with LVE and Parsons falling for it, then all of sudden they both curl to the left or right (mostly to the left) and goes to the outside for big chunks. I don't think you can do that if you're getting pressure up the middle and for the most part we wasn't doing that.
Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about but it seems to me that Tyron, La'el and Zach are good pass blockers but too slow to run block. Connor and Tyler are good run blockers, because they are smaller and quicker, but they can't hold up in pass blocking. Time and time again the pocket was a mess. I think it was that INT, Dak got hit on the left shoulder right when he threw it.
Connor looked to be crying at the end because he knows he's going to be a back up next year for another team. I'm okay with him being a back up here long as he doesn't get a raise in salary. We have O-line problems for sure. Some can run block but the other's cant, some can pass block but the others can't. With what looks to be a tougher schedule next season and with all the FAs and with not much money to work with, our draft better be an A+ by experts or it might be a long season.
