Out of the 67 running backs who had at least 38 carries last season, Reggie Bush had the lowest average Yards After Contact, according to STATS -- 1.53.

Exactly. Reggie Bush is all hype. You can tell who the youngsters are around here, thinking Bush is some unique player who has never existed before.

Let him tear things up for about five or six years, and then we'll start considering whether he can carry Emmitt's jock strap.

For my money, Eric Metcalf was more electric, more ellusive then Bush. He was simply too small to last. A shame really. To this day, he probably made the best move I've ever seen anybody make on the football field. He was electric.

Its not about carrying Emmitts jock strap. He'll never be the runner Emmitt Smith was.

Reggie does his own thing and its unique. The guy could make the tranisiton to wide receiver over night and in the open field is just absolutely deadly.

Also I dont know how Cowboy fans can talk down on Reggie Bush after what he did to us.

Tony Dorsett was about the same size as Reggie Bush, but twice the player.

Before its all said and done that Bush kid is gonna be mentioned with the likes of Rice, Brown, and Montana. I've never seen anyone like him. Speed, strength, playmaking ability.

The one thing I've seen out of Reggie that reminds me of Emmitt is his fearlessness in passblocking. He blew some guys up in that Chicago game on the blitz.

And the defensive players Tony faced where not as big.

If he reminds me of anyone, Brian Westbrook is a pretty good example by the way, it's Gayle Sayers. I never saw Gayle Sayers play in person, I was too young. However, watching Reggie and watching film of Gayle Sayers, to me, is pretty close. The speed, the play making ability, the explosiveness. Both guys run/ran the ball well, both guys are/were dangerous out of the backfield or split out as a receiver, both guys are/were deadly in the return game. I give the edge to Mr. Sayers of course, I mean the man is a living legend. But give Reggie his time and maybe he'll be mentioned in the same breath as Sayers.

Have you seen him pick up the blitz, hes lit several guys up this year.

Edit: Hes 200 lbs even. He benched 225 lbs 24 times at the combine last year. 9 more times than LenDale White, who is supposedly a power back.

Our stud DeMarcus Ware, our most athletic player, did 225 only 23 times.

You want a complete back, how about Maurice Jones Drew? He had similar rush attempts to Bush, only he rushed for almost 400 more yards, and about 2 yards per carry more. He had about half the receptions, but had a full yard per reception higher than Bush. And he was fantastic on kick returns. And scored twice as many TDs as Reggie.

I'm just not understanding the love.

Reggie Bush caught more balls than T.O. last year (88 catches and 742 yards) and still had 565 yards rushing.

Call me crazy, but I'd like my Runningback to be an effective rusher. Bush was garbage if you didn't get him the ball in space this year. Jones-Drew was a far better player on the season.

Upper body strength doesn't mean much for a running back.

I thought you were implying that he ran with strength, which I haven't seen him do, and which his YAC suggests he doesn't do.

You guys are missing the point when it comes to Reggie Bush.

Hes not there to be a Rusher hes there to make big plays and thats what he does.

His running got better and better as the season went on as well and I believe he'll be even more complete down the road.

Reggie Bush is a pure Phenom.

Of the 12 running backs with at least 45 catches, Bush finished eighth in yards per catch, 10th in average yards after the catch and ninth in percentage of catches with a broken tackle.
