If this is true, and I do say if because Broaddus aint exactly a fountain of inside info................it makes me think there is stuff going on with him that the Cowboys are scared to give long term money to him.

Otherwise it makes no sense for a guy that was close to double digit sacks to just walk out the door for just a second rounder.

Like I said, must be some red flags in his background or they are scared he is going to get suspended again..........next PED infraction is 10 games, maybe that is what they are worried about. Maybe they think he is juicing and are scared he is going to get caught.

I don't know, just guessing here....but there is something going on behind the scenes, you don't let a possible double digit sack guy walk for a 2nd.

Indeed,,
Does Irving mature into a Calais Campbell type of talent in this league.
or
Does Irving end up being another scar on the roster like Gregory?

Not saying he does either, but its kind of make or break decision time, and honestly, I would at least be happy that we finally got something in return on an investment, for once.

The scouts use Broaddus as a disinformation outlet and the coaches won't talk to him outside of the pressers. I give Spagnola more credibility in this type of thing and I don't give him much. Eatman is the one of that group to pay attention to.

Eatman is the only one that seems to be thinking on his own. The others seem to kick out whatever they are told to kick out. I want free and open coverage, but that's hard to get when Jerry is writing the checks to some of these guys.

I'm not a big Rod Marinelli fan but if you're a lineman and you can't buy into what he's doing cuz you're a flake, well don't need you.

The team that will likely sign Irving will be a contender. Imagine the patriots or steelers signing Irving and giving us a '1st rounder' or '2nd rounder' in return. I put those in quotes because that 1st is essentially a 2nd and that 2nd would essentially be a 3rd since they'd be picking at the bottom of the draft. In return, we get a Jerry Jones gamble or a guy who is merely ok. Sorry, no thanks.
All you are buying is one year...... after that it is a 70m contract

I would take a 1st and 12m in cap space for D Irving in a heartbeat

Sign D Poe for 1T and Draft R Smith at LB

DL1...........DLaw- MCollins- Poe- Taco
DL2...........Tapper- TCrawford- BPrice- Mayowa

LB.........DWilson- SLee/RSmith- JSmith/Hitchens

CB.......Cheeto-JLewis-ABrown- OScan
S...........BJones- Frazier- Heath- Woods

We can tender him for a 1st ....... why is everyone talking about a 2nd?????

Not all players are suited for Rod's scheme. 2 gap pluggers would be right to feel out of place inhis scheme.

The best ability is availability. He simply isn't available enough.
If we slap a first-round tender on him, no team is going to bite. A second-rounder? More likely.

He is worth more than a 2nd......stupid plan

For only a second I would play him for 2018 and take the 3rd round comp in 2019

If we put a 1st round tender on him, I can almost bet he won't garner a 1st round pick.

Irving has been suspended and faces a greater suspension for a subsequent violation. He didn't play a full year and has suffered a concussion, meaning he'll be watched closely.
And ... why would another team give the Cowboys a 1st round pick for a guy who Dallas should snap up if they think he's that important to their defense?

We also a 1st round tender on him, he'll either be a Cowboy or he'll be traded for a 2nd or lower.

Every player faces suspension if they break the rules

DIrving is a stud..... he is only worth a 1st in trade.....otherwise play him and take the 3rd round comp if he leaves in 2019 or keep him and pay him

We'll see if some team gives us a 1st for him.
I seriously doubt it, though.
