Anyone who puts Quincy on this list doesn't know football. We've won 15 games in the 32 games he's been gone, while he won 16 in 31 tries with an untalented supporting cast. Sure he made mistakes, but none so bad that he had to be released. My god, Michael Irvin was caught with a ton of drugs in his hotel room and with hookers too. He could have gotten 20 years in prison if convicted. Carter's problems were no where as bad as Irvins,Goodrich and others. If he yelled at Jones, that's no more than what half the people on this board would like to do to Jones for his draft picks and coaching selections. Many players who played for the Cowboys committed much serious transgressions and weren't released. Carter has a bi-polar condition which causes drug abuse, but it can be controlled by medication. The real reason that Carter was released was that he wasn't popular enough with the fans and cut into the profits for Jerry's financial empire. We are now and will continue to wander in the wildness of mediocrity unless Quincy returns or we get another qb with skills comparable to his run/pass ability. This is the new millenia and we will continue to see those types of qb's flourish and dominate the NFL.

Irvin won 3 Super Bowls and was IMO the Greatest WR the Cowboys EVER had!

That's going to get you a lot of slack in my book...Carter gets NO Slack...He sucked!

To compare those two even in the Context that you did is ludicrous...Carter couldn't carry Irvin's jock on his best day ever.

Irvin would totally disagree with you. He liked Q's moxie and talent. As a matter of fact, he said that the Jets should have played Q more once Pennington got hurt because he can do more. Q won 2 out 3 games with the Jets and they've won like 5 games since he last played for them some twenty games ago.

kartr. Just answer one question. Just one! Please!

Question: if Quincy is even half as good as you are constantly saying that he was, then why will none of the 32 teams in the league touch him? He couldn't even get invited to a training camp in a league that is desperate for quarterbacks.

How do you explain that?

It has something to do with handlers and selling jerseys. And an irate - racist komodo dragon named Sharon. She HATES QC.....

In reality, teams know that Quincy had limited physical tools to play the position (that is, he couldn't pass) and very, very little of the mental tools it takes to play Quarterback. Couple that with his horrendous attitude and his propensity to being a coke head since his day at UGA, no team wants him.

After his performance on the Hardline a couple of months ago, any sentient person who sympathized with Carter should have given up. That kartr still does is an indication that for him, it is all about Carter's race (a fact he has admitted to on other occasions) and for everyone else it is about Carter's value as a football player or lack thereof.

32 GMs in the league (and CFL too) agree with those of us who say Carter is worthless. But somehow kartr still supports him. That leads me to one of three conclusions about kartr: 1. he is actually Jean-Jacques Taylor; 2. he is actually Quincy Carter (its not like QC has anything else to do with his time); or 3. his support is based on the reason stated above.

It kinda seemed like it, didn't it?

Then, QC decided he'd rather get high, and screwed his team.

Now, he has no job.

Pretty simple, if ya ask me.

You're pretty simple if you think that's why he did drugs. He knew his career was over when they lied to him about not drafting another qb or bringing in a veteran. He knew he was going to wind up on the same scrap as Tony Banks and Jeff Blake, and wouldn't be given another chance to start, drugs or no drugs. He knew they were going to stick him behind Vinny/Drew and when his contract was up after 2005, no one would give him a chance to start, drugs or not, that's why David Garrard resigned with Jacksonville. He understands whats going on in the NFL with the qb situation. It's the same reason that Jay Cutler is more popular than Omar Jacobs, even though Jacobs is clearly more polished. It's the same reason people here think that Patrick Ramsey is going to be better than Jason Campbell, even though Ramsey hasn't shown as much as Carter did.

Goodrich. As far as wasted space goes, people forget about Glenn Carano. 2nd round pick who did next to nothing but still hung aorund for like 6 years.

See? It's all about race with kartr.

Just want to continue to point this out so that everyone knows. It's pointless to talk sensibly with kartr. He is focused on one issue and one issue only: race.

And what this about QC doing drugs because he knew he was sabatoged? Is that what kartr is trying to say? What is the explanation for him being a cokehead at UGA, then? He hadn't even made to the pros; he was living a stress free lifestyle in college. But there he was, a cokehead. It was open secret at the time he was a UGA that Quincy was a cokehead. Everyone knew it. He even got busted but let his teammates take the fall.

Oh.....I see...it's because he's black. When will the black man be given a fair shake as an NFL QB?????!!!!!!

Oh, wait, some of the highest paid athletes in the league are black QBs....never mind...your junk still makes no sense.

Lance Rentzel, Goodrich, Septien.

Q was a moron and many have flat sucked but they are no where near the people whose very existence is a pockmark on the team.

Goodrich is somewhere below the other 2 but thats still like the bottom of Dante's circles.

Quincy Carter is pretty weak minded if he was threatened by Vinny Testaverde. And weak minded is not good for a NFL QB. Heck, he should not have been threatened by the addition of Drew Henson since it would take at least 2 seasons to get Henson re-acclimated to football. Quincy is gone because of his actions. He was in a good position and blew it.

All of these are better than QC ever was.

And Big Ben is a good runner? How about Brady? Manning?

I think it's good to have a talented QB who is also mobile. But QC was just erratic. He shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath as any of these other guys.

Now hold on here.

Are we using off the field criteria?

Everyone freaks if it even seems like the HoF uses that criteria.

Maybe you all now see how hard that information is to ignore.

Huh.

You got that right. Fact is there will always be some player who is after your job that is just the way it is in sports.

Carter could throw the ball. He could make all the passes necessary for the NFL. His problems are all in his head and that does affect throws. Physically he can makes the throws, but if he doesn't make himself set his feet and do what he is supposed to do, then the passes won't come out as they should. If you can't make the reads or panic and don't follow progressions then that will lead to impulsivley throwing off the back foot and such. Those were Quincy's problems. Those are his problems off the field, too. He panics when faced with adversity.
